Many of you have been asking about the coffees in our recent release. Here’s a little more in-depth look into them both ☺️ Papayo: This is a relatively uncommon arabica varietal. It is suspected of being an Ethiopian mutation, however, it is predominantly grown in Colombia. The cherries are long and thin, which is where the name ‘papayo’ originates from. Like a papaya. In the cup you can expect to taste rosewater, strawberries & cream, chamomile, and honey. It’s a little bit tropical, with a silky, smooth body. There’s lingering florals and tropical acidity in the after-taste. Ombligon: Ombligon is an uncommon varietal that is celebrated in the specialty coffee world. Its name comes from the Spanish word for belly button. The cherries are small, and have an identity mark on them. It is a big coffee, with a bold, vibrant acidity. In the cup you can find notes of pineapple juice, rum, and dark chocolate. There’s a lot of purple and herbal notes like vimto, raspberry ruffle. It has a lot going on 🤯 Both coffees are completely different and offer a contrasting experience 🫶🏻 #atriumcoffeemcr #edinsonargote #specialtycoffee #newcoffeedrop

Today marks a very special day for us at Atrium. Today we celebrate turning four! 🥳 In honour of this we’ve roasted and released a special set of coffees! Both coffees are produced by Edinson Argote and sourced by Micafe. Our very own Owen has been putting his roasting skills to the test, bringing out the best, showing off the terroir and flavour both of these coffees share ❤️ This is a small step towards bigger things, and we couldn’t have done it without such an amazing team here at Atrium, and all the help we have had from our friends along the way! Both coffees will be served on the bar and available on retail for you to take home. Come down and join in the fun as we celebrate the journey we have been on over these last four years 🫶🏻 #atriumcoffeemcr #newcoffeeroaster #edinsonargote #micafetradingco #happybirthday

Is this the latest Valentine’s Day release? Is this even a Valentine’s release? It felt stupid to release a rose co ferment post Valentine’s Day so here it is! This Tabi from Edinson Argote is proper fruity, co fermented with lychee and rose petals creating a rich well balanced coffee! We only have a small amount and will be brewing all week in the cafe! This is also V1 of our new fully Riso’ boxes made in house @taithatelier a relatively early prototype but expect much more creativity, bespoke fun things and interactivity with each box! Plus weird surprises and prints! We are trying to take big steps this year to create more while presenting and cherishing the intense and impressive craft and skill from the producers and farmers! Coffee is a craft and practise that deserves respect and not fall to the sweeping monoculture etc etc! Anyway this coffee is a banger! We have lots of creative projects lined up for the year! Subscriptions, special cafe explorer pass(better name is being worked on), brew club, cassettes, and finally we will be getting back to the mounting emails! x

Meet Jorge Mira, the man behind our newest coffee from El Jaragual, imported by our friend Jonny at Mi Cafe. With a background as a forestry engineer, a large portion of El Jaragual is dedicated to sustainable forestry and conservation which features a blend of pine tree plantation and conservation areas of native forest. Not only is this great for soil health and biodiversity but it creates a perfect environment for shade grown coffee. This time we’ve gone for their advanced washed Yellow Bourbon and it’s another belter! We’re getting a clean and refreshing mouthfeel with loads of complexity, a little bit of funk and lots of tropical fruit with notes of papaya, dried raspberry and marzipan.

Despite the stormy weather in Athens, this cupping became something truly special. Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared a cup, and embraced the experience with us. And of course a  big thank you to the amazing farm owners Johny from @micafetradingco and Edison from @quebraditascoffeefarm for bringing their stories, their passion, and their coffees all the way from Colombia direct to Quishr! Moments like this remind us why we do what we do: to come closer with people who share the same love for coffee,to connect, to learn, to taste, to feel! In the end, it’s all about that✨
