Check out my new song, Spitting Up Blood. I’ll be sharing more as the weeks unfold, but this is the first song from my upcoming record, God’s Good Time a collection of songs written over the past decade that tell a story of love and loss, beauty and pain… just life, honestly. Kind of a retelling of my own. This is my first full solo album release. We recorded this live over three days in the studio with some really incredible artists Joshua Powell on guitar Jacob Powell on drums Josh “Bass Mountain” Townsend on bass Mason “Van Ghost” Raithel-Owens on keys All recorded/mixed/mastered at Postal Studio with Tyler Watkins engineering. It was a dream to go in with friends and just play, working through the songs and finding arrangements we loved on the fly. I hope you enjoy Spitting Up Blood

Look, I hate to say it, but I’m a fan of construction. I like when roads are freshly paved. I like when they’re smooth and not loud as hell when I’m driving my van. That part is great. But the way we do construction here is so unnecessarily frustrating. If you need to shut down the whole road, just do it. Seriously. Tear it up, fix it, whatever needs to happen. The real issue is communication. The signage is terrible. Half the time it’s missing, hidden, or doesn’t actually tell you how to get where you’re going. And that screws people over. People trying to get to work. People trying to get to local businesses. People just trying to move through the city without wasting time and gas. It feels like signage isn’t even treated like a requirement, just an afterthought. At this point I’m like… do we need a whole group whose job is just to go around and fix construction signs so people can actually navigate? It’s such an easy problem to solve. That’s the part that drives me crazy

Did you know you’re saving $.59 on gas every time you fill up in May? The war in Iran has continued driving crude oil prices higher, and with no clear end in sight, gas prices have stayed elevated across the country. Governor Mike Braun responded by suspending Indiana’s gas sales tax and gas excise tax this month, saving Hoosiers about 59 cents per gallon total. The gas sales tax accounts for about 23 cents per gallon. The excise tax accounts for about 36 cents per gallon. Governor Braun previously suspended only the sales tax back in April, but as crude oil prices kept rising and gas prices climbed past $5 a gallon, the state expanded the suspension to include both taxes this month. At the same time, there have been no calls from the governor to end the war itself, despite the direct impact the conflict is having on energy prices and the Indiana economy. So here’s the big question: What happens to Indiana’s budget during one of the busiest travel months of the year while collecting less gas tax revenue and also lowering property taxes? How does Indiana continue paying its bills? Will this create long-term financial pressure for the state? Should Governor Braun continue suspending the gas tax until oil prices and gas prices return to more reasonable levels? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Share them in the comments 👇🏻 #iranwar #gasprices #taxes #indiana #indianapolitics

When you’re struggling to learn something new, or relearn something, and it feels like it’s not going as well as you want it to, a pretty natural reaction is to get upset. To react with frustration, anger, disappointment. But when we do that over and over, we train our bodies to associate learning with stress and failure instead of growth. In this NASA video with an astronaut, you can see one of the best strategies in action: finding joy in the process. Finding joy in the failures. Finding positivity in the mistakes. Celebrating the small wins. Because failure isn’t separate from success. It’s part of the path to success. When you can face your own mistakes, problems, and adversity with curiosity and joy instead of shame and frustration, you’ll go much further for much longer. You stop seeing failure as proof that you’re incapable and start seeing it as proof that you’re learning. That mindset changes everything. Share some strategies you use to find joy in adversity and the tough parts of life 👇

@pickledpedaler don’t abandon your vehicle in the middle of the road during rush-hour on a Friday night. Maybe stick to non-peak traffic hours for your trips.
