It’s been so heartening to see people— Muslims and non-Muslims— reading the Quran for themselves and discovering the message of beauty, justice, environmentalism and equality, and to be lucky enough to hold space for some of those conversations!

Today the final episode of Season 1 of @theseedsfm dropped from @watermelonpictures and @dustlight_co ! We were lucky enough to produce the show with the thoughtful and warm @lanzybear hosting. It was a joy and a cathartic exhale to produce this show, after almost 2 years of witnessing the genocide in Palestine. We felt honored to bring to life a podcast that centered Palestinian, and progressive voices of some of the bravest artists, digital creators and journalists. And it couldn’t have happened without the incredible hard work, heart and creativity of our senior producer @smoawad24 ! Sarah researched guests’ backgrounds and found details about their lives that they were surprised and seen by! @aclausent composed a beautiful theme song, @mikej_obrien tirelessly edited all 6 episodes and all social clips and also served as a DP! He turned episodes around lightening fast, always willing to collaborate, and make the work better, and brought joy and lightness to the team. @aliciatatone created a fitting and unique brand identity for the show, continuing to blow me away with her brilliance. @kendrabell created an unbelievably peaceful set that reflected Alana’s aesthetic with Palestinian motifs. And she bought from Palestinian vendors whenever possible. She did it so quickly, we were all left in awe. @euceph jumped in and directed our intro sequence with such deft talent and ease, we counted our lucky stars to get her before she is too big! @chehadeboulos did our coloring for the intro, and saved our butts during a tough glitch. And we couldn’t have made this show without the wonderfully competent team and the gorgeous space @thelighthousecampus ! @badie82 @hamza.ali.85 and @munir_atalla at Watermelon all gave thoughtful notes and led with kindness and honesty and grit; a rare trait in leaders. And @lanzybear came in with charisma and curiosity and finished season 1 a seasoned host, a present questioner and with so many more besties. We always try, but once in a while we succeed in making a show that feels like a true dream team and also is of service to the world. Thank you for making that happen ♥️💚🖤

I’m so thrilled to have brought @theseedsfm with @lanzybear to life as Showrunner and EP of season 1. I’m deeply proud of what we made; it’s needed in the world and it gave me new creative life. I can’t wait for you all to watch it!!
