A tribute to a show about death!! I’ve seen Beetlejuice a… normal amount of times since it came to Melbourne and couldn’t be more thrilled. It’s been my favourite musical since its release and the Australian cast are KILLING it!! Sandy the sandworm might take the cake for me though. big puppet. My graduate film, Daisies, is streaming for free on MIFF play / ACMI cinema 3 until the 10th of December! Make sure to catch it whilst it’s around and see Valentine and HUE in action. Credits to my amazing cast, with @bell.bizumic playing Valentine, and @douglasbicker playing Mr Salmon! They nailed the voices, and I can’t thank them both enough for bringing these characters to life. I was also lucky enough to snag @a_nervous_machine as my composer for the second year running, who naturally did an incredible job! He also took on the sound design this year, and knocked it out of the park. Also on my crew, @artbysashabear and @korb.enigma helped out with colouring various shots, which was lifesaving, especially in the final stretch! I don’t think I can tag everyone who made this film possible. Many thanks to my lecturers for all their advice, my family for their support, and my friends for keeping me sane and letting me watch them make their own stunning films! (Also, thank you to Nokia for letting me use the 1961 recording of Daisy Bell?? Crazy. My little robot loving heart is so happy.) A mildly begrudging thanks to 2001: A Space Odyssey, too. I may have died of old age several times watching that movie, but they sure did make a killer AI character. (And a reminder that no AI was used in the production of Daisies! Kill that evil beast. This is the dream of what AI could be, not the nightmare it is today. Support human artists, and human art!) Anyway! My rambling is done!
