MEPLUTOI FIRST NYFW RUNWAY
It’s been 3 days since the show and I still can’t believe it’s happened and over now. I was accepted to be a part of this opportunity 2022, November 14, and didn’t have a clue of how it was all going to turn out. But the results of myself, the other designers, and The Radar were able to produce was beyond my expectations. I started working on the collection the moment finals ended on December 19, and spent day and night working a part time job, an internship, and on this collection. I had so many moments of doubt and wanted to quit countless times. I designed, made all the patterns, hand dyed and sewed everything on my own in the span of a month and a half. Thank you for this amazing experience and opportunity @theradarnyc . It was everything and more than I could have imagined.
Thank you so much Chris for helping me behind the scenes. I couldn’t have imagined a better stylist working with me. Thank you Asa, Kaitlyn, David, Drew, and Heloise for trusting me since day one. You made everything turn out amazing. Thank you Caitlyn for this opportunity, working with you was so amazing and I can’t wait to see The Radar grow <3

“NINE” OUT NOW
If ‘Pluto’ were to be given the title as a ‘planet’, it would be number “NINE”, the last planet. It’s different from the others, with it being last in line and a dwarf planet, but ‘Pluto’ still has its name. ‘Pluto’ still serves a purpose and without it, the solar system wouldn’t be the same. Considering myself to be a ‘human’, even if I were to place last in anything that I attempted or if I ‘failed’ in ‘life’, I still have my name. I still have my purpose and things wouldn’t be the same if I were to vanish one day. We all serve a purpose in this life. ‘Pluto’ is last, but it still has its placement… number “NINE”. In this fall/winter collection, I will be releasing a total of 3 garments at 3 separate times. This will allow me to focus more on my craftsmanship, sustainability, design detail, and mental health. In this series, I will be spreading a message through each garment about my personal reflection on my mental health, to encourage others to do the same. When creating Meplutoi, the goal was to spread a message with positivity and about being true to yourself. I will continue to build on this message.

I’m lying in bed at 11pm and it’s an odd feeling knowing that these days are passing by without your presence. But, in a lighter light, it just means a day closer to being together.

I’m cooking up a feast tonight! All these tomatoes and fish that I got today could feed this whole town! But I know if you were here, you would finish the whole thing. I grilled saba with lemon slices on top and cubed the tomatoes to eat with. Supa yummy!

Dear my long distance lover,
I went to the mall to buy toothpaste but somehow I fell into Meplutoi and bought two new outfits. CUTE RIGHT?! The toothpaste box had a gingham pattern and it reminded me of the new collection that I saw online! So I had to check it out for myself in person. Before you know it, BAM! I tried on the whole outfit and had to buy it. Then, you would never guess how I bought the second outfit. I saw the whole ensemble on the display case, tried it on, then BAM!
I bought it…
All that, and somehow I forgot to buy the toothpaste.

It’s 2pm now and the office is pretty slow. I’ve been trying to pass time by reading the newspaper and playing with my new pet fish named Benjamin. But, I just want to leave and enjoy the fresh city air!

Dear my long distance lover,
You would not believe where I am right now… I went to the fishing port, which as you know is only a 20 minute bike ride from home. And I planned to buy some saba from Tanaka Jiichan.
But, he told me about his spectacular adventure down the coast of Peru. He told me about the flying saba and how he caught 300 fish without ever throwing a line! So, I thought to myself, “WOW! This is something I want to experience!”.
AND THEN! He offered to take me! So here I am at 12pm, on a fishing boat with Tanaka Jiichan on the coast of Peru!
I should probably go home though. He talks a lot so i’m on my 6th shot of the day,,,
AND I STILL HAVE WORK!

Dear my long distance lover,
I finally rolled out of bed at 10am today. I brushed my teeth, washed my face and took my daily shot of Casamigos,,,
I’m ready for the day!
I stepped outside to my 15 acre backyard and browsed my farm. It came to my attention that my tomatoes are ripe and ready to eat! I’ve picked about 50 tomatoes today. Some range from the size of cherry tomatoes to the size of you! It made me miss you very much. But you would have laughed at the way I was rolling them home!
Because of all these tomatoes, I’ve decided that dinner would be tomatoes and fish with some lemon flavor.

Dear my long distance lover,
Good Morning! I just woke up and had a crazy ass dream. Something about turning into a tomato and being in war, shooting tomatoes out of a fish gun….
Anyways, it’s 7am now and i’m thinking a warm cup of tea. The lemons are growing very plump and bright yellow. Soooooooooo, maybe i’ll add some lemon to it.
