Blessed Beltane! As the Beltane fires burn away the old and call the living world to bloom, so too does she, releasing, rising, radiant. Her body is transforming, not diminishing. Like the hawthorn in full flower, like the bluebells in bloom, she is not past her season. She IS the seasons.

Repost from @vikramsinaitalaulikar You will need to type the link at the end or click on it on our FB page to know more! ------------ Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in women is frequently underdiagnosed and undertreated, particularly during midlife when the neuroendocrine changes of menopause transition can exacerbate or unmask underlying symptoms. Here is a useful narrative review from Dora Wynchank and Sandra Kooij which summarises current evidence concerning the pharmacological management of ADHD in women across the final reproductive hormonal transition. The review outlines diagnostic complexities and symptom overlap between ADHD and menopausal symptoms and discusses evidence for the efficacy and safety of stimulant and non-stimulant medications as well as the role of menopausal hormone replacement therapy as an adjunctive treatment strategy with an emphasis on interdisciplinary and collaborative patient-centred care. Research priorities are discussed which include controlled trials evaluating stimulant-menopausal hormone therapy combinations and optimal dose adjustment protocols. A big thank you to the authors for a comprehensive and useful review 🙏🏼. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42018215/

Supplements for menopause? It's a minefield, a money-spinner, a bandwagon that many have jumped on! As if we didn't have enough to contend with! Even some so-called community-minded initiatives are jumping on this bandwagon and seeking personal profit through sponsorships... To support what we already know, some real research has been reported: The objective: "To evaluate the role of social media in promoting menopause-related supplements and assess the evidence supporting their efficacy and safety." The sample: "A dataset of 1000 Instagram posts retrieved using 10 menopause-related hashtags." The results (paraphrased): "Only 18.3% of posts were authored by credentialed clinicians..others were by businesses or non-clinical individuals...the top 20 advertised supplements showed inconsistent evidence...limiting transparency." The conclusion: "Menopause supplement marketing on Instagram is dominated by non-clinicians and often lacks supporting evidence or regulatory oversight." And this is just Instagram! Furthermore, 'evidence' is usually provided by the manufacturers of the product, so doesn't hold water. If you're going to supplement, make sure you need it, research the provider, and try to measure your results. Be careful, and dig, if you want to use your hard-earned cash wisely! 👍 Information obtained from Pubmed article 12.04.26. #Supplementation #menopause #MenopauseSupplements #NutrutionBeforeSupplements

A few weeks ago we started to collaborate with Warwickshire Young Carers @warwickshireyoungcarers , and joining their support groups to talk all things menopause, answer questions from moms, carers, young adults interested in supporting themselves and the people they love. After our session at the Crowne Plaza Stratford Upon Avon in February, here we are at the SYDNI Centre @sydnicentre in Leamington Spa, where we all shared personal stories, tips and strategies, positive and less so experiences. If you are part of the young carers' network, do get in touch with Sally at Warwickshire Young Carers to see when Aline Boblin and Jacky Wood will be at a session near you in the coming weeks! I’m so grateful to the incredible people joining me at the Superpowers of ADHD & Dyslexia event. These amazing humans are giving up time away from their day jobs to connect with our community, share their stories, and open up about their unique journeys. They’re showing up to help others feel more confident, to highlight the strengths we often overlook in ourselves, and to create a space where everyone feels seen, understood, and empowered. 💛 This event is all about real conversations, no screens, no presentations.
Just genuine connection, lived experience, and a welcoming environment where you can be unapologetically you. 🌟 Join us for an event that celebrates the power, the brilliance, and the superhuman strengths behind ADHD and dyslexia.
