We couldn't have made this day happen without their sound, vision, and commitment to the culture!❤️
Last weekend at Malmö Festivalen we celebrated sound system music from across the world 🔊.
For me, sound system is a living reminder that music can’t be reduced to a “world music” label just because it doesn’t come from a white European perspective. Club spaces should hold room for all cultures, not just the ones that have been whitewashed, packaged, and sold back to the mainstream. It’s been five years this past weekend since I lost a close friend to suicide, and sharing my culture through music is a way I stay grounded, connected to my loved ones wherever they are. 💛 Please, look out for your friends and family. Don’t get lost in the things that don’t matter. To real energy shared, care in action, building spaces where we feel safe, culture that carries us forward.
Thank you to everyone who booked me, danced with me, and shared space this weekend. 🫶🏾 It helped me move through a tough moment, and I truly appreciate it.
Here's some of my favourite moments from @melt_malmo with @dirtyjens128 on the mic🔊

From South London to the Picos of Colombia’s Caribbean coast — Andrés (Sound and Fury) brings a lifetime of sound system culture to Malmö Festival this Friday.
“I was born in Colombia, raised in South London, and grew up inside sound system culture. It’s more than music — it’s Blackness, safety, community, history, education, and love.
These spaces were built because Black people weren’t welcome in regular clubs — so we built our own. From the Picos of Colombia’s Caribbean coast to the sound systems of Jamaica and London, this culture was born from creativity, necessity, and survival.
My performance and photo exhibition this Friday at Malmö Festival are my way of honouring that — and remembering that sound system was born from the pain of slavery and colonialism, and must never be forgotten or whitewashed.
What does Sound System mean to you?”
We’re honored to have Toju Osawe Jemide aka Dirty Jens [@dirtyjens128 ] joining us, bringing his signature flow and infectious energy to the stage!
Toju Osawe Jemide, better known as Dirty Jens, has long been one of Sweden’s best party starters. With his unique voice, sharp freestyle skills, and unfailing sense of vibe, he elevates every dance floor he steps onto. He is currently in the final stages of his upcoming album Act Three Osawe, which will be released in August.
A driving force and forefront of Copenhagen’s sound system scene, we proudly present the one and only @soundandfuryoh !
Sound and Fury is a shapeshifting presence in the Copenhagen music scene, blurring the lines between dancehall, jazz, dubstep, soul, reggaeton, and jungle. Firmly rooted in the rhythms of his Colombian heritage and the influences of his upbringing in the hard sonics of South London, his music intertwines Afro-Latin and UK bass music, embodying the vibrant fusion of cultures he represents.
With a similar mission and mindset we are absolutely thrilled to be joined by the best crew as found on the west coast of Sweden, @bangersandmash.gbg !
Bangers & Mash is a DJ collective based in Gothenburg, run by four devoted enthusiasts with a common love for deep bass and foggy dancefloors. Since 2021, JoolZ, chuki, Ammo Ra’ad and DeadNote have provided the coastal city with regular nights focusing on UK Bass and its wide range of subgenres - from UKG, dubstep and grime to UK Techno, jungle, hardcore and breaks.
Now we are finally pleased to invite them to Malmöfestivalen alongside their own soundsystem, Big Bauta Sound, to give us a top-of-the-line sound experience with max pressure.

Long overdue we are finally able to present one of our favourite acts in the region! With great passion, skill and respect to the roots, @mbizomusic is a new generation’s champion of sound system music in Copenhagen.
Being a regular at events such as “Bas under buen” and “Vesterbro Bas Klub” Mbizo has established himself as a well sought producer and DJ in the bass scene of Copenhagen, gaining great attention with his explorative, yet authentic take on dub-influenced electronic music. Among many impressive releases he is featured on the cherished LP compilations Danish Dub part 1 and 2 together with 2000F and most recently self-released the mellow tune Bodega Dub, made and dedicated for an event in memory of Bob Marley.
For the occasion he will play a rare live set, where he brings strictly new music - heavy basslines are guaranteed.
As a main attraction of the night we are gassed to have our stage powered by a proper sound system. All the way from Gothenburg we have invited the @bangersandmash.gbg crew to set up their Big Bauta Sound, ready to shake our bodies with warm low end!
When DJ collective Bangers & Mash was formed, they immediately realized that they needed a sound system that could do justice to the bass-heavy music. Before even organizing their first party, the opportunity arose: the sound system they had dreamed of suddenly became available for sale – and at risk of leaving Gothenburg – they took the leap and bought it.
Thus Big Bauta Sound was born, and is today used and run as an extension of the club concept Bangers & Mash in Gothenburg. The philosophy is simple, the music and rhythms should be felt throughout the body without taking a beating to the ears. At the Malmö Festival, Big Bauta Sound will make its debut outside of Gothenburg to give the Melt stage the same feeling!
