Soundcamp Radio and Soundwalk as part of Réveil 2026 @sound_camp Tune in via the link in bio. RADIO Saturday May 2, 3pm-5pm Melissa Ryke and Thorsten Streichardt, bring several contemporary artists working with field recordings and site-specific practices together to create a 2-hour live radio broadcast from the FRAC, Dunkirk. This radio programme will highlight listening practices and local ecologies around the theme Grit. Grit, meaning: abrasive particles or granules, as of sand or other small, coarse impurities found in the air, food, water, etc. Or a firmness of character; indomitable spirit; pluck. Offered as a starting point for this radio session, Grit is both materially and politically relevant to the local contexts of Dunkirk that recalls it's sandy beaches, mineral industrial processes and the mettle of artists that are included in the programme. List of artists involved: - Ruchi Anadkat, Silvain Vanot & Alexis Trousset with students from Esä Dunkerque-Tourcoing (Jean-Baptiste Irutibgabo, Louise Koperski, Madeleine Gobeaut, Nouheïla Belazar & Axel Sevelin) @ruchianadkat @silvainvanot @esa_dunkerque.tourcoing - Vittorio Auteri @falsorisveglio - Dorothy Hunter - Guillaume Rouseré @g_sound_art - Thorsten Streichardt - Melissa Ryke This radio session also coincides with @levelfive.brussels open studio programme and will be played in the exhibition 'escargot' at the Van Volxem space. DAWN CHORUS SOUNDWALK Sunday May 3, 5:20am-7am Free, meet at 5:20 a.m. in front of the Frac Grand Large, Dunkirk. Melissa Ryke invites the public on a guided sound walk in silence and will broadcast the dawn chorus as part of Soundtent's Réveil project. The 40-minute~ walk will begin at the FRAC, then wind through the dunes and along the seawall before returning to the starting point. @fracgrandlarge @ruchianadkat @falsorisveglio @g_sound_art @esa_dunkerque.tourcoing #dorothyhunter #thorstenstreichardt

Escargot is a first tentative intervention to use the new vitrine space of Level Five’s Van Volxem studios as an exhibition space. In this initial intervention by Julia Liedel, Adler Murada and Melissa Ryke, Escargot is put forward both as the name for the show, as well as a name for the space that recalls the spiral shell of a snail. This intervention pivots around our artistic practices, ideas that respond to the space and the theme ‘grit’. Grit, meaning: abrasive particles or granules, as of sand or other small, coarse impurities found in the air, food, water, etc. Or a firmness of character; tenacity; indomitable spirit; pluck.  Offered as a starting point for this collaboration, grit is ecologically, materially and politically relevant to the local contexts and ecologies of Level Five Van Volxem. Grit can be found within the renitent Wiels marais between busy train lines, the mettle of practicing artists and enduring artist studio spaces. Part of Open Studio Days — Atelier in Beeld @kunstwerkt Open 2nd May, 10am-6pm Live Radio streaming from Dunkirk 3pm-5pm Performance by Julia Liedel 5pm-6pm Address: Av. Van Volxemlaan 380, 1190 Forest/Vorst

@ifk_vienna summer akademy, Mali Brijun, Croatia. Sept 2024. Working on the theme of Oceanic Realignments led by Karmen Franinović & Roman Kirschner we spent a lot of time exploring ways of applying our research methodologies to underwater environments. The non-terrestrial approaches to embodied listening I explored were very stimulating and brought many new perspectives and questions. Very grateful to have been invited on this incredible journey with so many other brilliant artists, architects, pedagogues, theorists, scientists, lawyers... all very generous people. Especially huge thanks to Karin Harrasser, Andreas Gerlach & all organisers. Also special thoughts to all the underwater babes @snowphicat @selia.m.f Lukas Pucher @xeni9000 📸 collections of pics taken by many hands, some by @handhand_elise @lgannape , Andreas, & underwater babes

For more information, visit our salon sale page on our website—link in bio. 1. Devon. Link.01, 2023 Martijn Petrus @martijnpetrus PLA filament, MDF, PVC print 32 x 22 x 22 cm Documentation credit: Alesander Tamar Aydin The sculpture is part of a series of three and was presented in a bigger installation. This pops into my mind at the strangest of times, ie. today, sitting on a gym ball, bouncing in my studio. The door pulses in relation to my movement. It's a cement building. All I can figure out is that it's from air vibration or a slight pressure change. Now the door and I definitely have an odd relationship 🤣🤷‍♀️🌬️ Image: handwritten post-it quoting David Abram's 'the spell of the sensuous' 1996: "sensing body as an open circuit that completes itself only in things, and in the world. - destined for relationship". #davidabram #spellofthesensuous #materialconnection #doorandgymball #studioresearch #embodiedlistening @levelfive.brussels
