The artist set out to develope a relation between urushi and celluloid film. He explored the unlikely relation between glass and urushi. The titles hint at the ontological challenges encountered working with urushi, wherein the front, or face of things (表 Jap.-omote) and their back or hidden side (裏 Jap.-ura), shine through to each other.
