🍄 This is the first time I’ve worked with mycelium in my practice (most of the tiles in this piece are made of mycelium and substrate), and I'm becoming a little OBSESSED. Mycelium is the root structure of fungi, and spreads in expansive webs underground - connecting plants, and strengthening ecosystems. We’re much more dependent on fungi than we realise - the ultimate connector 💫 This work is on display alongside the diverse practices and artworks of @tiles.lewisham where my artist studio is. Bludge the last few days of work and check it out at @firstdraft_ ! 📸 Mel Booth, "Everything, Everywhere, All At Once", 2024, mycelium, hemp hurd, bird seed, paper, acrylic medium, thread, carabiners, sheet metal, ceramics, glaze, 66x66cm.
