It’s been a trad girl summer 💁🏾‍♀️ Still climbing. Still scared 😬 Took my SPI course this past weekend and learned so much. Excited to continue working on my head game and rope skills and figuring out what climbing means to me. • 📷 @alexanderkcb

Blk Out Fest 2023✨I'm honestly at a loss for words. Reflecting on this experience takes my breath away. As a Black climber, I've had to make some difficult negotiations. The hardest being the friction between playing outside, doing a sport I love, while also having to mute or alter parts of myself in order to feel safe or even just normal. It is exhausting and lately, has made climbing hard to enjoy. Blk Out Fest is a reprieve, a healing space, a celebration. It is Black joy, wellness, love, magic, brilliance, excellence, and everything in between. This year I'm grateful to have been more involved in the planning and execution. I’ve learned so much through the process and the weekend itself was intense. Physically and mentally it took everything I had and some more. But the overwhelming love, beauty, and sense of belonging I experienced in return is so precious and profound, my entire being is nourished. It may sound dramatic, but in some ways I feel like I've been reborn. I think this might be the best thing I've ever been a part of. Thank you Tiffany(@blkoutfest ) for your leadership and vision and @myhana_not_myhanna for your camaraderie and being a dope teammate. If I tried to name every person who shaped this experience for me I’d vastly exceed the post limit. Instead I’ll just say I’m honored to be a part of the Blk Out Fest community and excited to see it continue to grow. I'm proud of every single one of us, and so eager to see what we'll build together. Thank you @bleavitt8 (slides 1, 2, +3), @trevorlately (slides 7 + 10), @key.o.knee (slide 4), and my big sis (slides 8+9) for capturing some special moments. Face planted on this running start and it turns out embarrassment is the fuel needed for a good send 😭 after being shutdown on my projects it feels good to be in my slab baggy 😎 • • • #slabissexy #slabclimbing #blackgirlsclimb #bouldering #blackgirlsboulder #sassyfeet

The sun really loves me🌞 also how y’all feel about beaded sunglasses lanyards? Is it giving old lady or fun and flirty? If you say old lady you’re anti-black 👵🏾

Spelunking in Carlsbad Caverns 🤿 It very much gave gothic cathedral vibes, like an organ should start playing at any minute. Interesting, beautiful, a little creepy. Nature is always a vibe. Swipe to see what happens when you try to take a selfie in dark cave lol

Bits and pieces of my 32nd year. It’s hard to appreciate everything that happens over the course of a year. It felt really good to look back on these moments. Time moves so fast and progress can be slow and disjointed. It’s not always easy to bask in the sweetness of beautiful moments and relish the growth that’s being made in real time. Looking back on these memories reminded me that I’m right where I want to be, in time, stretching, experiencing, healing, learning, and I love that for me. 1. Close up of a dragon fly at my favorite spot in Taos. 2. A massive waterfall I experienced on my first visit to Washington and Mt. Rainer NP. 3. A little creek flowing through Moab after a dip in a local swimming hole with some people I love. 4. Driving through a wildfire in Idaho. Very dystopian. 5. Spiders gotta eat too. I call this ✨symbiosis✨. 6. A little bit of home in Santa Fe, NM watching Oddisee perform at Meow Wolf. I am not a gogo fan but I think I converted that night out of pure nostalgia. 7. My sweet baby Isley a few days after I brought her home. 8. Art imitating life imitating nature at Carlsbad Caverns NP. 9. My first burlesque performance as Chili from TLC 🙈 10. Lizard friend on my first solo trip to Hawaii. Looking forward to more adventures like this one. Thank you to the wonderful humans in my life that have helped me make memories like this and so many more. I love you all 💕
