i’ve been going through old footage and i came across this hilarious video of me in an acting class with the genius that is @susanelee creating a safe space to make a mess and explore and truly play. in this take she challenged the idea of the actor being “too big” and indeed after watching it you can see it’s usually not as “over the top” as we think and through that we give ourselves freedom to really stretch and discover what a character might be wanting to reveal. and also our own delicious humanity.
watching this back now i can’t help but smile and enjoy the artist and human i was 3 years ago—nothing but love for every version of me. what a sweeet little bub.

5 years ago — fresh off a move to LA with a few dollars and a dream.
i was going through some old photos and found this shoot and just stared at myself — everything i thought i wanted… i already had.
you’d never be able to tell but i was terrified during this shoot. just lost and feeling fraudulent — but how could i be fraudulently me? hahaha silly me.
a sweet remembrance; i’ve always been the person i’ve wanted to be.
