Thank you KU Leuven for bestowing honorary doctorates on me and Jodi Kantor for our investigative journalism. It was our honor to be in the esteemed company of Rector Severie Vermeire, Dean Steven Eggermont, Vice Dean Kathleen Beullens, ProfLaura Vandenbosch and accomplished Belgian journalists like Tess Uytterhoeven and Karine Claassen. And to walk the halls of this beautiful, 600 year-old university. 🙏🙏🙏 (Photos by Sharon Debremaeker)
Grateful that our video on how the Tate brothers were freed from Romania has received an Emmy nomination for outstanding investigative coverage: short form 🙏
Today @mega2e and I sat down for a post-publication lunch with Manny Fernandez and @sarah_hurtes , who worked for years to tell the story of how Chavez victimized women. Such painful accounts, such brave sources, so many questions about how to regard the Chavez legacy. But I want to note: nine years after Megan and I began investigating Weinstein, even amid great backlash, women are still coming forward.
A night that held the room in complete stillness and lifted it in shared strength.
When Gisèle Pelicot took the stage at The 92nd Street Y, New York, it was not just a conversation. It was a moment that moved between silence so deep you could hear a pin drop and waves of love, recognition, and collective support.
Joined by Megan Twohey, with readings by Mariska Hargitay and Marisa Tomei, the evening carried the weight of truth and the power of voice. Pelicot’s presence, her clarity, and her courage filled the space in a way that will stay with everyone who was there.
Today, we are sharing special images from the night that capture the essence of this extraordinary woman and the feeling in the room.
Thank you to Mark Doyle of Michael Priest Photography for capturing the night with such care.
If you missed it, there is still time to experience this remarkable conversation on demand. Tap the link in bio to watch and be part of a moment that continues to resonate far beyond the stage.

It was such an honor to interview @gisele_pelicot , who radiates resilience, hope and love. Everyone should read her memoir: A Hymn to Life: Shame Has to Change Sides
A voice the world is listening to. On March 30, she speaks here.
â €
For one night only in the United States, Gisèle Pelicot comes to The 92nd Street Y, New York for a landmark conversation that has already reshaped global dialogue around sexual violence, justice, and the weight survivors are too often asked to carry.
â €
In the wake of the trial that exposed years of unimaginable abuse, Pelicot’s words resonated far beyond the courtroom, galvanizing a global conversation about accountability, dignity, and change. Now, in her only US appearance, she speaks with candor and extraordinary strength about survival, testimony, and what it means to reclaim one’s voice.
â €
She is joined by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Megan Twohey, whose reporting has helped redefine how we confront abuse and power. With readings by Mariska Hargitay and Marisa Tomei, this evening brings together voices who have shaped both cultural awareness and public accountability.
â €
At the center is her memoir, A Hymn to Life, a work of profound courage and clarity, told not as victim, but as witness. A story that asks us to reconsider where responsibility belongs and how change begins.

Remember Paolo Zampolli, the former modeling agent who famously introduced Trump and Melania?
We discovered that last year he asked a top ICE official to have the mother of his son detained. He thought it would help him in a custody fight over the teen.
The ICE official agreed to help.

@bellakwai@mmmatei and I interviewed dozens if people in Romania, the US and Britain, and reviewed hundreds of pages of court records and private messages to piece together how support from Trump officials played a crucial role in the release of the Tate brothers from Romania.
With wonderful editing by @virginiahughes and @lanieshapiro , we tell the story of how the lifting of their travel bans was the culmination of a years long effort by Andrew Tate’s to court powerful figures on the American right.
Among them: Barron Trump.
