It is always interesting to read about photographers’ life stories. In many cases, it was a passion other than photography that led them to pick up a camera. In the latest issue of the Medium Format Magazine we have one of those amazing stories. For @russellordphoto Russell Ord, ocean and surfing was his escape and early passion, when an injury led him to photography. This is one of the many events we discuss in this wide-ranging and insightful interview. Russell explains how he prepares for his ocean photography sessions, how he chooses locations, gear, and much more. The interview is accompanied by stunning images of the ocean and the people who love it. #mediumformatphotography #mediumformatmag #fujifilmgfx #fujifilmphotography #oceanphotography #windsurfer #wavephotography #waterphotography📷 #mediumformatdigital #mediumformatphoto

In the latest issue of the Medium Format Magazine @stephanie.lacombe.photography Stéphanie Lacombe presents a documentary project titled “Immobile Home.” She writes: “At the end of Terminus Beach in Berck-sur-Mer, the Ami-Ami family campsite, established in 1974, covers two hectares. Its 150 mobile homes, far less mobile than they appear, require a special transport convoy in order to move. As year-round residency is prohibited, the families have access to their property only during the summer season, when they gather there, generation after generation.” Amusing writing and superb photography! #mediumformatphotography #mediumformatfilm #mediumformatmag #documentaryphoto #documentaryphotography

In the latest issue of the Medium Format Magazine @digglesphotography Warren Diggles discusses “Investing in Your Evolution as an Architectural Photographer.” He writes: “What draws me to architectural photography is the search for order within complexity. The challenge is to distill elements into a cohesive image. This means working with light and form while deciding what to exclude from the frame. That same pull first drew me to landscape photography years ago.” It’s a great account of the experience of a working architectural photographer, accompanied by superb imagery. #mediumformatphotography #architecturephotography #mediumformatmag #mediumformatdigital #mediumformatphoto #interiorphotography

Beno takes us on a wide-ranging journey through his career in technology, architecture, photography, filmmaking, and much more. Beno’s ability to tell the story of his progress and current approach makes this one of the most compelling and rich interviews we have published in the magazine. We are thrilled to have @leeannolwage Lee-Ann Olwage back, this time with a new project she recently worked on in Tbilisi, Georgia. The story is centered around Nina Ananiashvili, one of the greatest ballerinas of all time and the dancers she leads as the artistic director of the Georgia State Ballet. It follows the success of the company post-Soviet Union; the story is a rich mix of culture, history, and tradition. The project was created on the Fujifilm GFX100RF medium format camera. In the latest issue of the Medium Format Magazine @andrewbaruffi Andrew Baruffi takes us to one of the most popular national parks in his article titled: “Homing in on the Details in the Iconic Grand Landscape – looking past the superficial view of Zion National Park for deeper meaning.” He writes: “Grandeur is intoxicating. Taking in the view, the big picture, is after all why there’s a visceral reaction – wanting to pick up a camera and take a photo. While getting it all into a frame is a worthy goal of any photographer, visiting iconic places like Zion National Park, Utah, there’s something to be said for putting a spotlight on the smaller parts that make up the whole.” What a great take on the topic! #mediumformat #gfx #elementsphotomag #landscape_captures #fujifilmgfx50s #landscape_features_ #naturephotography #mediumformatphotographer
