It never seases to amaze where our members turn up. This feature in the Qantas Magazine is a classic piece of earned media. Great yarn, well pitched, perfect audience. Love it.

On The Debrief talking about big issues but seriously anyone that works in the charity or not for profit sector knows how hard it is to raise a dollar these days. The turning up your nose on those donations because you don’t like the character or you question their moral stance. You’d be going some to test the moral standards of every organisation or business where a donation has been made. Oh and let’s not forget putting off anyone making a donation in fear of bad publicity. #mediarelations #mediastable #media #communications

FREE webinar on EARNED MEDIA on Tuesday May 19 11am AEST. A chance to jump on this event and learn a little more about this sometimes-misunderstood phenomenon ... ‘earned media’. Do we understand it? What can it do for authority? What can it do to help you get discovered? What value does it have? There will be aspects of the webinar on best practice achieving earned media but more importantly where it sits in your communications strategy, what is it? What will it do for you and where it becomes an important asset being found in the future by AI. How will this realistically work for or against you? The webinar is limited, first in best dressed. The recording won’t be available after, so you have to be there to benefit. FREE Registration in the comments. #earnedmedia #mediarelations #Mediastable #meetthemedia #media webinar professionaldevelopment

Overnights is one of the toughest shifts in radio. The hours are demanding, the talkback unpredictable, and the audience… occasionally unfiltered. It takes a skilled broadcaster to hold it all together and still deliver a compelling program. Our next guest on #theexpertspodcast does exactly that. Listen to the episode here: https://lnkd.in/gAp9V6sU @patpanetta_ is a veteran of the Australian media landscape and the host of Australia Overnight. As Nic puts it, his voice is “like one big hug” — calm, reassuring, and authentic. That connection isn’t a crafted persona; it’s who Pat is, and it’s why his audience stays with him through the early hours. Broadcasting across VIC, NSW, QLD and WA, Pat faces the unique challenge of making a national show feel local. It’s a difficult balance, but one he executes with precision — every listener feels like the conversation is directed at them. In this episode, Pat breaks down what makes a story work in the overnight slot and how he consistently finds engaging content in a time period where talent and topics can be harder to secure. He also lifts the curtain on a practical reality of the format: the strategic use of pre-recorded interviews. Far from detracting from the program, these conversations allow for deeper, more thoughtful discussions — giving guests time, space, and a better experience, while enhancing the overall show. Beyond the microphone, Pat channels his expertise into his business, Tell Your Story Media, helping brands and organisations communicate more effectively across radio and television. It’s a natural extension of a career built on understanding audiences and crafting meaningful conversations. This is a thoughtful, behind-the-scenes look at a misunderstood timeslot and the skill required to make it work. If you ever get the opportunity to join Pat on Australia Overnight, take it — it’s long-form, engaging, and, as promised, feels like a big radio hug. #media #mediarelations #earnedmedia #mediastable podcast meetthemedia Media Stable Expert Registry

Of course we talk about the big issues in #media but there is always time to have a bit of fun. The vinyl post yesterday was inspired by this chat @nic_hayes18 had with Graeme Goodings on Fiveaa on Friday. Love the @therollingstones #mediarelations #mediastable #media #meetthemedia

It is world vinyl day today... what was your first album? Do you still play vinyl? What is your favourite album? Yesterday on Fiveaa Graeme Goodings had maybe 30 calls on people going down memory lane. This wasnt the first album but was a first concert. #worldvinylday

If you’ve ever dabbled in the dark arts of #SEO, you’ll understand the frustration, time, money and effort poured into results that don’t always stack up. Tune into #TheExpertsPodcast in the BIO Now there’s a new force reshaping search: Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO); the system underpinning how #AI and large language models deliver answers. @nic_hayes18 sits down with @darrylsparey from @hard.numbers 📈 in the UK and Simon Murphy from indigo murphy to unpack what all the noise is about. #GEO may only be a few years old, but all signs point to it becoming the future of search and discovery. The conversation zeroes in on what really drives AI visibility: Earned media High-quality content Recognised expertise Proven authority In short, it’s not tricks or hacks as Darryl often refers. It’s credibility. Darryl and Simon come from different angles, but land in the same place. GEO represents a major shift for brands, communications teams, and PR professionals. Importantly, this isn’t a quick fix. You can’t bolt on a tool or widget and expect results. It requires patience, consistency, and a commitment to quality—but the payoff is long-term reputation and commercial impact. A word of warning: tread carefully. There’s already plenty of noise and questionable advice in the market. Make sure you’re working with credible operators.

On the podcast we talked to @eonfoundation CEO Kathryn Taylor on how they have been telling their story in the #media. It is a fantastic podcast understanding the work that they do, The Foundation has changed the lives for First Nations people. This was an interesting comment though that certainly should resonate. Even if you don’t believe in the humanity of the work done here. You certainly cannot deny the economics of it. Prevention is always better than cure and the cost of cure is far greater than the prevention. Tune into the podcast in the BIO. #mediarelations #health #mediatips #indigenoushealth

A little bit of fun looking back on what was the definition of doing well as a child growing up… what was the little things that defined you were rich? There were harder issues that @maddylarsen , @natarshabelling and I tackled but this was fun. The VCR… Video Cassette Recorder was a sure sign you were doing well when that tech hit the market. I even still have @nmfcofficial Premierships on VCR. What was your thing that you knew you were doing well when growing up? #mediarelations #mediastable #media #mediatraining

The @medianet_anz 2026 Media Landscape Report is out and @nic_hayes18 spoke to their MD Amrita Sidhu on #TheExpertsPodcast. The report locks in the relationship aspect of communication between journalists and communicators. The necessity for people to understand, identify and relate to each other is something AI can’t do and won’t do.
