🌱🌱 In Mullewa, a community garden is growing more than fresh food. Supported by a locally employed Aboriginal team, the garden is strengthening community wellbeing through growing, harvesting and cooking with fresh produce. Community-led. Practical. Sustainable. With thanks to MEEDAC and to the Australian Government’s Remote Jobs and Economic Development program for their valued support. #communitygarden #midwestwa #remotejobs Senator Malarndirri McCarthy - Northern Territory

Meet one of our super hardworking students from the Mid West! 👏 This young legend took home a football as a prize for his dedication and hard work in the kitchen during EON cooking sessions. We’re pretty confident that healthy food and cooking skills will help him shine on the footy field too! 🏉💪 A huge thank you to @capralaluminium for their generous donation of footies to help inspire the next generation to stay active, healthy and engaged. #EatWellPlayWell #footyforhealth #growinghealthycommunities #ThankYouForGiving

On the podcast we talked to @eonfoundation CEO Kathryn Taylor on how they have been telling their story in the #media. It is a fantastic podcast understanding the work that they do, The Foundation has changed the lives for First Nations people. This was an interesting comment though that certainly should resonate. Even if you don’t believe in the humanity of the work done here. You certainly cannot deny the economics of it. Prevention is always better than cure and the cost of cure is far greater than the prevention. Tune into the podcast in the BIO. #mediarelations #health #mediatips #indigenoushealth

Last week we joined the 2026 Telethon Giving Celebration – an incredible gathering of organisations working to improve the lives of children and families across WA. It’s a reminder of the scale of need, but also the strength of the response. Thank you to Telethon7 Perth for supporting EON’s program in Mullewa. Sometimes the impact of our work is best told by the communities themselves. Yarralin Principal Zoe Richardson spoke on ABC Darwin last Friday about the school’s edible garden: “We have a fabulous garden through our partnership with EON Aboriginal Foundation… it pulls the whole community together… a real hands-on learning space and a real centre of the community - not just a garden.” She spoke about families coming to pick fresh fruit and vegetables and students cooking bean stew with produce they’ve grown. What makes Zoe’s comments even more meaningful is that EON hasn’t been able to physically access Yarralin so far this year due to flooding. This is what community-led, embedded programs look like. When the knowledge, skills and ownership sit with the community, the impact of our program continues regardless of distance, weather, or access – as shown so clearly at the very remote community of Yarralin. Healthy food. Shared knowledge. Strong communities. Thanks Zoe @yarralinschool #FoodSecurity #CommunityLed #ClosingTheGap #PreventiveHealth #RemoteAustralia #EONFoundation

Many thanks to everyone who has been in touch about our Katherine office. The team are safe and dry, and thankfully the office didn’t sustain any water damage. Right now, we’re working on plans to continue supporting the children and families we partner with — in ways that also respect and support the incredible work of emergency services during this time. Today's NT road report is a stark reminder of the food security challenges facing many remote communities when weather events cut off access to essential supplies. #foodsecurity #localfoodproduction #eonaboriginalfoundation

Great to be included in Meekatharra District High School first newsletter for 2026 - "We were delighted to welcome Miss Briar back through EON Aboriginal Foundation's program, with students enthusiastically engaging in the garden and kitchen from day one, developing practical skills, teamwork and health habits (and generously sharing their creations with staff!)". By the way - the students at Meekatharra are doing a fantastic job in nurturing their garden through a very torrid summer - really well done to all! 🌴🌱 #meekatharra #ThrivingCommunities #eonaboriginalfoundation

It was a pleasure to meet with Senator Sue Lines, alongside EON Aboriginal Foundation Board Director Dr Rishelle Hume, to share the depth and impact of our work. Across remote Australia, too many children and families continue to face hunger and diet-related chronic disease. For 20 years, EON has partnered with Aboriginal communities to deliver practical, community-led programs through schools and local leadership — building food knowledge and skills, strengthening health outcomes, creating local employment and supporting generational change. We valued the opportunity to discuss what sustained, place-based action looks like in practice, and why long-term commitment is essential to improving health and addressing food insecurity. #EONAboriginalFoundation #CommunityLed #AboriginalLeadership #HealthEquity #20YearsOfImpact
