79 Months In A Row πͺ
.
Some summer months it can be really hard to find the motivation to get out and ski, it's usually quite the trek and snow is usually not great, but this month reminded me just how good summer skiing can be out there π Snow was the perfect consistency, it was a beautiful day, and there was just enough snow for me to connect up several patches, making for a pretty good size ski decent.

Been in Alaska for several weeks now testing out next years Scope 110 from @libertyskis
In my normal skiing I am always looking for the most technical line available in every zone and thus have always leaned towards the snappy, directional Radian lineup.
Now that I'm up in Alaska seeking out more open faces where speed is key and the terrain is lined up for playful skiing I have found myself enjoying the Scope 110's way too much. They have the flex pattern to be a super playful ski on big and small terrain while also holding up incredibly well at speed.
There will always be a place in my skiing for both the Radian and Scope, but Alaska has really shown me just how much fun the Scopes can be.

It's officially been 100 months of skiing every month of the year π€―
In January of 2018 I clipped into a pair of downhill skis for the first time and I haven't missed a single month since. The freedom, confidence, and companionship skiing has brought into my life over those last eight years is something I will forever be grateful for and can't wait to continue on with.
In the summers I really just appreciated the forced excuse to take a big trip into the mountains, even in September with barely any snow anywhere π
And in the winters skiing has opened up a whole new level of freedom for exploring the mountains and experiencing this beautiful planet.
100 months was always the goal from the first time I had the idea of summer skiing and now that I've made it I'm not sure I'll continue with the summer part, I'll ski here and there, but I think a break would bring some more joy and love back into it.
I would highly recommend everyone try out a summer of skiing through a whole year, even just for the trailhead conversation starting with "there's snow up there somewhere?!?!" But either way, get out there and enjoy the outdoors :)
Had the pleasure of meeting Nico up here on Thompson pass and he took us to the goods!
It has been a lot of waiting around for weather windows across our Alaska trip so far, but when it's good, it's really good out here :)

Lucky Enough...
This has been one of my favorite Zach Bryan songs for the past year or so and it has been on mind a little extra this season. While the snow hasn't been the deepest and the world feels like it's falling apart sometimes; I have been so grateful for the opportunities I've had to travel, meet amazing people, and push myself in the outdoors.
We are currently in Alaska camped out for the next couple weeks with a storm incoming and I can't wait to see what else we find out here :)
Huge thank you to @libertyskis & @julboeyewearna for helping make this season possible π

Some of the most powerful northern lights I have ever seen and I nearly missed them!
This was my first time trying out some new camera settings that allow me to actually film the northern lights without having to do a long exposure timelapse. It is so cool to be able to capture the real time motion they have.

First try at a daytime time lapse
I'm really learning how much the weather can make or break these. The mountain looked so beautiful with the blue skies, but as soon as the overcast comes in it really flattens out the image. But we had an awesome day of skiing and I'm still pretty happy with how this one came out :)

Got out all the cameras for this clear night π
I love seeing how the clouds move around the terrain in these timelapses, something that always looks stationary in normal life but has so much life to it.

Been having fun on this trip getting better at my timelapse skills, this was a beautiful frame from somewhere in British Columbia.
This was my first time trying out attaching a battery bank to my camera so it could shoot all night, unfortunately clouds with snow came in right before sunrise and greyed out everything.
