Tour de Lysefjord is a climbers paradise. Lysebotn is one of the worldโs most spectacular switchback roads, but to turn it into an official #switchbacksaturday route, we had to get creative. โ๐ขโ This route involves logistics as it is impossible to do a loop without crossing the 42 km long Lysefjord.

โโLysebotn Climb. Designated an HC climb, it is brutal as it is beautiful. It gains 854 metres in 9km and is packed with 27 switchbacks. Walls of rock falling vertically into the fjord gives a stunning scenery.

โโGiljastรธlen is set in a rural landscape with grazing livestock on your way up. The descent down to Frafjord on the other side is a spectacular hidden gem.

โโIf you are travelling to Lysebotn by boat through the Lysefjord, youโll be able to appreciate stunning views of the Kjerag Rock and Preikestolen - the two prized tourism attractions of the region.

Welcome to Switchback Heaven: Osafjellet. Osafjellsvegen, starting from the village of Osa at the edge of the Osa Fjord (part of Hardanger Fjord), was built thanks to the Sima hydro-power station. The road is a cyclistโs dream, featuring 18 switchbacks and several steep sections, making the climb to 1,100 meters an unforgettable experience.

โฐ๏ธ Cette boucle รฉpoustouflante au dรฉpart de Salazie offre de superbes points de vue sur Mafate. On traverse de nombreux รฎlets qui permettent de refaire le plein dโeau et faire quelques pauses. Comme toujours il vaut mieux commencer (trรจs) tรดt pour profiter de la fraรฎcheur du matin et pour terminer au sec. La derniรจre ascension via le sentier Augustave se fait dans la Ravine Savon qui porte trรจs bien son nom ๐ซฃ il vaut mieux lโรฉviter par temps de pluie !
๐ค En version plus tranquille, il est possible de diviser cette boucle en deux, avec une nuit ร Grand Place, voire mรชme en trois en dormant ร Ilet ร Bourse et Aurรจre!
