Nine students from McDaniel traveled to New York City for last month's National Model United Nations Model (NMUN) 2026 conference (@nationalmodelun ). Accompanied by Aqil Shah, visiting professor of Political Science and International Studies, McDaniel’s delegation represented Ireland across seven UN committees, addressing a range of international policy issues. Both Liam Estell, a senior Political Science and Computer Science major, and Wera Schroeder, a junior Mathematics and Biology major, participated in the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference and received the "Outstanding Position Paper" award. Tonight! Cinema majors premiere their original student-produced narrative and documentary films during the annual McDaniel Cinema Showcase on Thursday, May 7, starting at 6 p.m. in Decker Auditorium, Lewis Hall of Science. The students wrote, directed, produced, and edited films as the culminating project for their senior capstone. Each screening also includes a brief Q&A with the student filmmaker. In advance of National Nurses Day today, a plaque unveiling took place on campus at McDaniel yesterday afternoon to officially announce the McDaniel College Kahlert Nursing Education Center for The Kahlert Foundation.
