Tom Cruise jumped on Oprah's couch, The White Stripes released "Get Behind Me Satan", and the first video was uploaded to YouTube. Amidst this excitement, Monika Bullette released "The Secrets" for free download on her website - before streaming sites were a glimmer in an eye. She played 87% of all the instruments on the recording, with her friend Hangnail Phillips taking up the slack. Her album captured a distinct indie spirit and won Philadelphia City Paper's "Best Album You Can Get for Free and Without a Guilty Conscience." Bullette's album is now available streaming for the first time, offering a chance to rediscover its unique charm. Before "The Secrets" Monika wrote and sang for NERO, after "The Secrets" she sang and played drums for The Sky Drops, and today she makes music videos for Delaware musicians, works on her visual arts practice, and sings harmonies and plays fiddle for Wasted Arrows.
