Once upon a time I made a clay boat that exploded in the kiln then I glued it back together and made velvet sails and ceramic eyes and it floated in Glenn’s frog pond and then in Lithia park. This was in 2021 :) it was called ~djijis dream boat~

@lowergrandradio thank u for putting this together 😇
Wow where to I begin…..
‼️‼️new weaving alert‼️‼️
I made this at the @tanglehaven residency in Troy New York and I was the second person to ever be a resident there ! I was in Troy for 3 weeks by myself in a big ass old ass brick building making a weaving and gosh what a blessing it was…… this is the largest tapestry weaving I have made ! And if it weren’t for being at this residency this could have easily taken me half a year to make. I kid you not… I wove probably 5-9 hours a day everyday!!
All this to say, thank you very very much @juulers_row for being such a sweetheart and welcoming me to Troy. Thank you to all of my friends who called me while I was there and thank you to everyone for being curious what I made !!
Weaving is such a special practice that makes me feel super 🥸art smart🥸 as I go thru the process, starting with measuring and counting, then using a warping board, then threading the loom and tying on. It’s such an old practice that somehow feels so familiar to me?? Like maybe I did this shit in a past life who knows.
Within this thread of photos and videos and process pictures I have included a full length video of how long it would take me to get ONE row done, it took nearly 3 minutes. Weaving is a true freaking labor of love.
Many different symbols and motifs I have included in my weaving, this was the first time I went into a weaving without having it fully planned beforehand which was a trip! The apple is an apple bell toy I included a video of how it sounds !!
Oh! Also the night I cut the weaving off the loom I was packing it up in my bag to leave the next day and there was a lady bug crawling on it :) how special
Oh my gosh and also….. if any gallery wants to put this in a freaking exhibition HIT ME UP hahahaha hehhehehe hohooho 😈
Thanks for listening everyone :)
