I'm not in the habit of taking many pictures of my life, nor am I very familiar with using social media, so this is all very new to me! I'm using my first official post on this account to say hello to anyone who may be stopping by, and briefly introduce myself.
Hello! My name is Maya, I'm a thoughtful fashion enthusiast, lover of beautiful things, and a self described "whimsical eccentric", who has stumbled into modeling for the very first time! This brand new world is filled with many fresh and exciting things, and I'm hoping to dip my fingers into every paint pot that catches my eye to smear on this canvas we call life.

I've been finding a lot of meaning in moving through life with intention, lately. Drinking my tea one sip at a time in the mornings; setting aside time to breathe in the brisk November air. There is overflowing beauty in the mundane, and I'm swimming with gratitude for every second of it. In an attempt to curate a small visual diary, here are some of those fleeting moments. 🧡

I’ve never felt more centred and connected to my craft, and I’ve never felt more aligned with the direction of my industry. Something beautiful happens when you stop making excuses, when you embrace YOUR pace, when you move forward with confidence and intention. The universe responds.
At the end of 2023 - I stopped working with a long-time client. I can recognize now, that my creative world was highly stringent and closed for business for many years. I was in a toxic work relationship that left me feeling isolated and constantly frustrated...
After making the big decision to end our contract - knowing that it would likely affect my reputation negatively - my WHOLE world opened up - beyond anything I could have imagined.
The creators, brands and work opportunities I connected with in 2024 are truly special. I met so many incredible people - people who want to DO things and MAKE things and GROW.
And for that, I am so so ever grateful.
Today is the first anniversary of my father’s death. As I type this, I feel heavy. But I know that it’s natural - and that he would be immensely proud of my commitment and determination over the course of the last year - and beyond.

An impromptu holiday shoot I didn’t know we needed… I’ve been trying to source the @diorbeauty Forever Sequin Liquid Lipsticks for months but they are ALWAYS sold out!
We decided to create our own epic glitter lip 💋 on the lovely @maya.roddick using @hourglasscosmetics . We mixed various glitters and other lip products together - topping it off with a very special gloss medium.
