Mario is a multimedia artist based in the San Diego area, currently focused on growing a collective of instant film event photographers across the US. Bret Watkins is a Los Angeles-based Polaroid photographer as well as self-proclaimed Embroideroidist.
Mario and Bret introduce 4”” RA4 roll paper, a new format made possible by the Cameradactyl Master System. Think photo booth strip, but BIG. Select audience members will get a couple poses snapped while the strips are developed live alongside the demonstration. From exposed paper to finished print, all in one hour showcasing this format’s potential for photographers seeking an immersive and genuine instant-like experience.

Last year we (@instantflamingo , @nickcollingwoodvintage , and I) got inspired by the RA4 reversal and huge camera obscura adventures of legends like @cameradactyl@brendanbarryphoto and Mat Marrash, so we turned an Ilford dark room into a huge ULF camera. This is how V2 came together ahead of its debut at Abelcon 3.

It’s been an intense large format photobooth 2-month sprint as I lay the groundwork for the next adventure (see photobooth highlights). @cameradactyl ‘s 4” roll paper back has been so much fun, I’ve felt an evangelist calling to get other photographers into it. Built a drum to show the reversal part at events, but it’s a bit messy. The Cameradactyl Master System processor is the end game and on the to-do list once the brick & mortar studio is up and running.
