With the Flexi Panels for the Waikanae project set to be installed onsite in the coming week, here's a look at the @maxraft insulated slab system that forms the foundation of this High Performance build.
A fully insulated slab is a critical factor in mitigating heat loss and ensuring energy efficient construction.
The design for the Waikanae house features an insulated MaxRaft slab for the thermal envelope of the home (red), separated from the uninsulated garage floor (blue) with a thermal break.
Building performance starts from the ground up!
Reducing waste on site is a priority for us.
Once installed, this large 460m² MAXSlab foundation generated less than a quarter bag of insulation offcuts. Even better, those offcuts are recycled into new products, keeping material out of landfill and the site cleaner.
Pre-cut MAXRaft insulation also means:
