feeling precious about my time directing “A Blue Moment” — a poetic film that touches on memories held by Arctic land, water and sky.
when I first conceived of this work, there was a lot of grief that layered the research I conducted alongside scientists working at the forefront of Arctic climatology — coming to terms with the story of the Arctic as a fragile and intimate one, flooded with loss and decay.
in contrast, what was memorable about this period of production was how much laughter we had on set, the inspiring conversations we shared along the way, and the joy that sparked as we interwove our lenses and talents to create this film.
it speaks to the power of the collective, that stories are powerful when they become shared experience, and that music can spark from even the quietest corners of our planet.
forever grateful to my team, for bringing all their perspectives, questions, grief, and joy to this project ✨
