When we remember that we’re all part of one big community, incredible things can happen. This past Saturday, 51 amazing volunteers came together with Urban Compassion Project to tackle one of many illegal dumping sites in West Oakland. In just three hours, the team cleared 21 tons of garbage — filling three huge dumpsters — and transformed a stretch of Oakland’s streets from blight to beauty. It’s inspiring to see what’s possible when people join forces for their neighborhoods. Want to be part of the movement to keep Oakland clean and thriving? Sign up to volunteer with @urbancompassionproject and @thecityeats Shoutout to @maximizevideo for the music, coffee, and for producing this video and @taqueriaaztecadublinca for the yummy burritos! #goodpeople #makinggood #urbancompassionproject #thecityeats #oakland #transformation #communitycleanup #bayarea

What if your IT partner didn’t just handle the unexpected
but actually lived for it? That was the idea behind this campaign we created with LookingPoint. They came to us wanting to show something you don’t always see in the IT world: personality, trust, and a team you genuinely enjoy working with. We explored a lot of directions, and ultimately landed on a concept that brings that to life in a memorable way. We follow their CEO through what feels like a normal day
except in the background, things start getting a little unexpected. A bear. A cake. Stilt walkers. A juggler. Llamas. And then the reveal: it’s all leading up to a launch party. Because when your systems are in good hands, you can relax. We don’t just expect the unexpected. We live for it. Huge thanks to the team at @lookingpoint for trusting us to run with this idea and bring it to life. This was a full soup-to-nuts production for us
concept, writing, directing, production, and post
all captured in a single, ambitious day at their facility. And as always, none of it happens without an incredible crew of Good People who show up ready to make something special: Writer/Director: @maxfancher DP: @mendo_kid Producer: @kerensouth 1st AC: @none2short Audio: Matt Jepson Gaffer: @rustypete86 Grip: @lamar.r.cox.7 HMUA: @christinatoset PA: @_ellafancher PA: Remy Grossman Talent Scout: @shreddertainment @erinshredder Llama Wrangler: George Caldwell Stilt Walkers: @nastassiaarts , @ticamamita Juggler: @dracothejuggler Editorial & Sound: @maximizevideo GFX: @paulreiss Color: @ryanr.colorist #goodpeople #videoproduction #brandfilm #creativeproduction #lookingpoint bayareacreatives storytelling

2200 UCP volunteers cleared 1.3 million pounds of illegal dumping in 2025. at the beginning of this year, we didn’t know what was ahead of us at urban compassion project. in january and february, just two of us traveled to palisades in los angeles county to help with the devastation left behind by the fires. over several weeks, we cleared over 30 tons of fire debris and ran emergency distributions of pet supplies, hygiene items, and essential goods for families who had lost everything. when we returned to the bay area, we still didn’t know exactly what direction ucp would take. but what was clear was how broken the landscape had become, especially in oakland, and how jaded people were by years of illegal dumping, displacement, and city failure. so we decided to act. we launched the east 12th movement, a focused effort to reclaim a corridor that had been written off. dozens, then hundreds of volunteers showed up. together, we cleared over 135 tons of illegal dumping along east 12th alone. that momentum carried us across oakland and throughout the bay area, including vallejo, berkeley, emeryville, san francisco, and beyond. in 2025 alone, we cleared over 660 tons of trash, which is more than 1.32 million pounds, powered by over 2,200 volunteers. along the way, we supported over 750 people through weekly distributions of hygiene kits, socks, basic necessities, and pet supplies for those living on the streets. we launched our homeless ambassador program to give unhoused residents tools to address illegal dumping and reclaim shared spaces. we built partnerships with taqueria azteca, city eats, and good people oakland who supported this work. we also advocated for policy changes and increased accountability to improve how the city responds. it’s been a wild and impactful year! we can’t wait until 2026. please donate to us to help sustain momentum: /donate/ sign up for our upcoming cleanups: /events/ #urbancompassionproject #bayarea #donateucp #transformation #volunteer

You won’t believe what they did. On Saturday, November 15th, 75 volunteers came together in Oakland and cleared 8 tons of illegally dumped garbage. Some were familiar faces. Some were brand new. And that’s the part that inspires us most
this movement keeps growing because people keep showing up. Week after week. Shoulder to shoulder. Neighbors who refuse to give up on their city. As the holidays approach, we’re deeply grateful for every bit of support we’ve received this year. None of this happens without the volunteers. They are the foundation of it all. 💛 Huge thanks to Taqueria Azteca @taqueriaaztecadublinca  for nourishing everyone with burritos, and to Good People Oakland @goodpeopleoakland  for bringing the black van, coffee, music, and the energy that keeps spirits high. đŸŽ„ And appreciation to Maximize Video @maximizevideo  for capturing this moment and helping us spread the word. The year isn’t over. We’re finishing strong. Seriously, the best cleanup ever. đŸ’„ 49 of us came together and cleared over 8 tons of illegal dumping in under 2 hours at 24th and Kirkham today. Absolutely unreal. The energy, the teamwork, the laughter, it was all there. Huge thank you to @thecityeats , @maximizevideo and @taqueriaaztecadublinca for keeping everyone fueled and vibing. 🙌 You showed up not just with food but with heart, and that’s what makes this community so special. This is what Oakland looks like when people care and take action. We’re not slowing down until every neighborhood is clean and the city steps up with us. đŸ’ȘđŸœ #UrbanCompassionProject #california #transformation #before #after #bayarea #oakland #communitycleanup

Tomorrow night (Thurs 10/23) from 6–9pm, we’re hosting something a little different
a free pop-up art installation at Colby Park here in Oakland, featuring the incredible Astro Botanicals and their glowing inflatable sculptures. By day, they stand as elegant white forms. After sunset, they come alive
transforming the park into a glowing garden of color and light. This is a free, family-friendly event open to everyone. A simple way to connect with neighbors, enjoy some beauty, and celebrate community creativity. Huge thanks to Astro Botanicals (@astrobotanicals ) for donating their art and time to bring this experience to life. The world needs a little more light right now, and we’re grateful to help share some. If you’re nearby, swing by and say hello. 🌈 #oakland #publicart #community #astrobotanicals #goodpeopleoakland #colbypark #popupart #bayareaevents
