2022; Finally moved into my house, bought an expensive robot, traveled around the country, met some awesome people, made some awesome memories and made new friends.
I’d say it was a good year :)
Here’s a handful of photos from a handful of shoots. A little bit of my camera and Gaffing side combined together, a little bit of a weird combo but I enjoy it!
I’ve been gifted some rad photos of a shoot I gaffed by @patrickkonior
Thank you to one of the best DP’s @miguelcorteo for having me on this shoot! It’s been a crazy year so far and I’m glad I could sneak this one in while working on a feature!
As much as I wish I could post more, I’ve been so busy that I never have time to stop and grab my camera. I’m tremendously great full to everyone who has kept me incredibly busy this year and all of the new people I’ve meet!
Every year baseball teams do a hype commercial during spring training. They’re big and flashy, except this year we’re restricted to only 2 people... not even myself is allowed in the set area.
Will, Alvin, and myself sat down and tried to figure out how to work around all of the restrictions, but still do something just as big and crazy! This is some of the results.
Since I didn’t have player clearance, I setup in a tent upstairs with a ‘Fly by Wire’ DMX setup using @obsidian_control and Monitor feed from our main camera. Then we just used headsets to communicate everything. Other then my station overheating and the Teradek cutting out, it went super smooth. We hit a record number of players captured, 40 players in 3 days.
This definitely wouldn’t of been possible without Dir. @willshanahan & Dp. @alvinrenz . Wouldn’t want to do it with any other team.
I love my shitty $35 eBay Point n’ Shoot. I don’t care about the look or style.
I love it because it’s a quick and easy time capsule. Back-to-back shoots all seem like a blur, and when in the rare times I can stop and take a photo, it lets me look back at why I love what I do.
It’s a reality check. When I see the scans, it only makes me want to do more and to keep improving.
