We are so hyped to have New Jersey Shoegaze band @high.asfuckband join us at the 7th Edition of The New Colossus Festival, happening March 3–8, 2026. They’ll be playing the @kaninerecords party on Thursday March 5 @arlenesgrocery In the shadow of mega-metropolises New York City and Philadelphia resides the New Jersey suburbs, a frequently misunderstood and misrepresented place. In Boonton,  Christian Castan (vocals/ guitar) and Bridget Bakie (bass/ vocals) linked with local Jack Miller (drums) with Danny Zavala (guitar) joining as a result of a prank rehearsal gone wrong – or really right depending on how you look at it - formed High. with the intention of making slow motion shoegaze that was as blissed out as it was pissed off.  High. has released one debut EP, which was well-received and heavily toured and are set to release “Come Back Down” - a companion EP - that marks the beginning of a partnership with longstanding NYC based indie label Kanine Records. With a greater expression of range - more noise, more hooks, more heaviness and more emotion. The sad is sadder and the love is more in love. More songs about loss and being lost. Come Back Down will be released January 24, 2025 as a digital EP and on vinyl, with the previously released EP on the B side. Thrilled to be bringing DC’s @flowersforthedead to NYC for the upcoming run with @high.asfuckband at @goldsoundsbar this Thursday1/22 ! FFTD are growing more and more legendary by the minute. By the time you read this to the time you walk across the door Thur Night, their status will have only grown. Synthesizing 90’s influences of Babes in Toyland and Riot Grrl into a potent modern cocktail, FFTD become more themselves with every new song they release. More explosive than the music on record, is their live shows. Without restraints from binary code or algorithms, their sound is on full blast at full volume. Truly one of the most ferocious band’s hitting the nightclub stages in 2026. End capping a 2025 that saw them release two pieces of vinyl, and making best of the year lists, High. starts 2026 with a bang. High. takes a break from working on new music for this string of dates w/ FFTD. Since the summer, High. have been woodshedding, workshopping and compiling new music anytime they have a free moment. Leaving a wake of acoustic guitars de-tuned across friend’s apartments and Guitar Centers in the tri-state area. @ccyanotype are only one show deep, so If we say that are our favorite new band, you wouldn’t believe us. come early, so you can see if we are kidding or not. their mysteries are only outshined by their melodies. New Year’s Day in Bushwick, looking more picturesque than it has any right to be. For all it does wrong, there’s always something about a sunset that Bushwick does right. But maybe that’s just any place? What do you think ?

LOTTO Season Has Begun. @tagabowphl bring their magical summoning circle to the floor of @market.hotel Show will be iconic, legendary & remind you every reason why you fell so hard for music in the first place. I wouldn’t be surprised if there weren’t any more tickets left at the end of the day, and official sales only began a couple hours ago. An important band in an important city at what I’d like to think of as an important music venue. If you’ve ever been curious about the music of tagabow read @britestboy Pulitzer worthy piece on them over at @stereogum It’s worthy of its own Larry Clark x Harmony Korine directed feature film. LOTTO X TAGABOW it’s reassuring to see a band that has grinded with their own trail of sweat, blood, broken into vans and tears have some greater music world recognition. Part of what’s so uniquely special about the TAGABOW story isn’t just how transcendent their music and live shows can be. Which they truly are. It’s the energy and effort they put in along the way to take everybody (and i mean nearly EVERYBODY) up with them. Their curation of show lineups & releases via their Julia’s War imprint have exposed scores of us to an obscure channel of today’s Unheard Music. TAGABOW is in a unique position of being both their corner of music’s leading light, and it’s leading patron of the arts. Seeing a band that prioritizes the success of those around them, as much as, or nearly more than their own, has been an inspiration to witness. There isn’t some magical fairy or internet bot that creates scenes and music communities. These worlds are created by individuals who dared to dream them up. Reinforced and expanded upon by those who dare to dream them too. It’s not something you come along the ride for: it’s something you build together. Slide 3: 1st time seeing @tagabowphl when I helped book them on a few weeks notice at Putgatory- along w/ Full Body 2, Sun Organ & @bedridden___ (Famously documented in Shoegaze Now w/ my stoic mug immortalized along w/ it) After is their Rooftop Generator show in Brooklyn last Saturday. “Our little tribe has always been & always will until the end” Happy LOTTO day to all those who celebrate.

to be a Jersey boy is a wonderful thing. I can’t say what’s in the soil, or at the traffic stops, in our front yards, or the parking lots of 24 hour convenience stores that make it this way. Maybe it’s cuz the big cities are so close yet too far. Maybe it’s cuz the streets are so quiet at night all you can do is chase your own thoughts out of your minds with your own songs. words and music that harmonize w/ the crickets and the wind blowing long branches of tall trees scraping your second story bedroom window. Maybe it’s too many manicured front yards surrounding you, too many Highways that go everywhere but lead you nowhere. Maybe it’s because your life doesn’t really start til you leave. But when you leave you take a history with you that kids from California, the poets from Portland, the senator’s sons from Washington DC could never fully articulate. @joyerband are some sweet Jersey folks, who’s every song is stronger than the last. Who makes every part of the journey worth the ride.
