Pretty huge update here. After a decade at Cue, I’ve decided to go full time freelance! I’ve always had a hefty freelance workload, but this last year, things have drastically shifted. Much more than other years, I’ve been working on bigger, more interesting projects, landing some bucket list clients, working with some of my design heroes and going up against big agencies (and winning a decent chunk of the time). This momentum is moving me in a really great direction and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
I’ve learned so much at Cue and had the privilege of working on some really meaningful work. The team there has been amazing and I’ve definitely made some lifelong friendships.
I’ve got some really exciting projects lined up, and some really exciting work to share soon. I’m getting booked up quick already, but still have some availability so if you want to get something started, let’s do it!
The Big 11
New work for the gang at @56brewing , holding it down for 11 years. It has been a wild ride and I’m just happy I’m along for it. I love it when I have faith that a client will stand up for what they believe in, and they also happen to brew good beer.
Celebrate the milestone this weekend at the taproom with a big ol’ DIPA from @bobson__dugnutt and some @angrylinecookmn burgers. It’s going down Saturday, May 9th.

Posting for no particular reason today. It was a pleasure to see the Señor Smoke work in @communicationarts Typography recently. My last project wrapped up for Cue was a fun typographic exploration for the new beverage brand. Plus type judges love Brothers font. Happy holidays.
New Work: Fair State Brewing
One of our favorites, Fair State Brewing has had a lot of change the last few years. Following a purchase and a shift away from the Co-op model, it was very important that as much soul of the place was brought forward to its new chapter. Fair State brews the people’s beer, as stewards of community and craft. It was an honor to help redesign the identity and packaging system. We created a more cohesive system that can thrive for a primarily retail-focused (for now) brewery.

Stoked to have collaborated with the two legends @matterickson32 and @codypetts on showcasing their rebrand for @fairstatebeer and bringing their vision into the 3D realm.
Using Houdini and Cinema4D I was able to showcase the branding in their beautiful glory as well as do a cheeky liquid simulation that focused on the Fair State logo itself.

It’s pretty surreal to think that I’ve been an independent designer for exactly a year. To sum it up, it has outweighed my expectations a hundred times over.
Things took off immediately, starting with wrapping up one last project with cue to landing some huge projects I never thought I’d be able to get a few years ago. There’s a ton I can’t share yet, and hell– even some of the snippets here I can’t expand on yet. But the momentum is amazing, and the freedom has been mind-blowing.
Thanks to every client, collaborator and co-defendant that has helped make this dream possible. From trust on a big project to a small tip, to a little (or a lot of) shit talking, you all made it possible.
Much more to come this year. One down, many to go.
