Video footage from Ed Tanneenbaums Dance Performance in Tsukuba Expo 1985 and Shimmer.
Expo ’85, officially called the International Exhibition, was held in Tsukuba Japan 1985 with the intention to showcase Japan as a country of technological innovation
Among the attractions of the exhibition was the first Jumbotron, a huge TV screen developed by Sony.
The Dance performance was created with custom built hardware and software in ”real time” using a single body worn live camera input. The props used were retro-reflective sticks and wrist bands that were ”waved or ”manipulated”. The video is a recording of the live feed that was seen on a video projection on stage next to the performers.
They called it ”Technological Feets (no artificial in telligence) ”
In the age of AIs-slops, it makes more sense now than ever.

One of Radley Metzgers earlier films which considered a classics within its genre just as ”Behind the green door”, Warhols ”Blue Movie” and ”Deep Throat”
The film was based upon an off-broadway play that was rather popular and featured Sylvester Stallone. Stallone didnt make it for the movie since Radley thought his look was to ”ethnical” and didnt fit in the european sensible of the movie.
Movie was shoot in Croatia and had quite big budget considering its genre but the success didnt follow. The film got its rightous recognition much later due being one of the first films swinging in both directions.
The movie feature an rather fine Beatles-style not-on-vinyl song by an uncredited band named ”Croatian-trio” -Where is the girl. The band was most likely a local band that the producer stumble upon during the set. #matsoaka #rosettas #disco #balearic

The Demon Spell features vocals by Louise Huebner (1930 - 2014) which was an American author of occult books, astrologer, and the only officially appointed Official Witch in the entire world. She was given the title of ”Official Witch of Los Angeles County” during a Hollywood summer bowl in 1968.
By the late 60s, esoterica was big business and supernaturalism had seeped into culture through books, as well as fashion, film and music. Louise was the hardest working full-time-witch at the time. She frequented TV-shows, was a guest on Johnny Carsons Show and participated in crime investigations. She also recorded an sought after album in 1971 featuring hits as: ”The Earthquake Spell For Unwanted Lovers”, ”Seduction Spells From Around The World”. The late 60s and early 70s saw some striking experiments in the animated feature film. These films left the tried paths of family film and aimed at a more adult audience. René Laloux made the original and odd ‘La planète sauvage’ while in the UK George Dunning’s ‘Yellow Submarine’ were inspirered by The Beatles.
Meanwhile in the US Ralph Bakshi experimented with more adult themes in ‘Fritz the Cat’ and ‘Heavy Traffic‘. All considered stonecold classics.
Japan had Eiichi Yamamoto which ‘Belladonna of Sadness‘ was a commercial failure and even contributed to the production company Mushi Pro going bankrupt. The film is an amazing visual and musical experience, and has a very experimental feel to it. @finderskeepersrecords got a reissue with some tracks by Masahiko Sato. If experimental watercolor animation style based on Medieval European witchcraft legends and illustrations is your bag! A hard watch.
