Memories of the first concerts of Duo Maelström with @kimdbernard on piano! 🎹 For this invitation at the Mayenne Theater and Scène en Forêt, we chose a programme around Grieg, Rachmaninov and Clara Schumann. We also had the joy of giving a masterclass for piano and cello students at the Mayenne Conservatory 🎻 🌿 Alongside the @academiejaroussky , these first concerts mark the beginning of new projects. Stay tuned!

Looking back on the @festspielstadtbadelster with Peter Bruns ✨ I had an amazing time performing Kraft's Cello Concerto at the @koenigalberttheaterbadelster alongside friends @xxh.007 and @seanxiaocello , accompanied by the Chursächsische Philharmonie and Florian Merz! An engaged audience in a lovely little town, and so much music shared, from cello ensembles to orchestra concerts 🎶 🙏🏻 Many thanks to Annegret for her fantastic piano accompaniment all week long, and Heime Müller for leading the ensemble rehearsals with so much passion and energy ! 🌳 And along the way I made a little detour to Zwickau, following in the footsteps of the Schumann family...

Romantic chamber music, but make it historically informed ✨ ⛪ So grateful for this inspiring week at the Abbaye aux Dames in Saintes with the JOA, diving into the 19th-century repertoire on period instruments. Huge thanks to our incredible teachers: @ophelie.gaillard , Daria Fadeeva and Kai Köpp, for guiding us through the sources and historical context 🙏🏻 Loved performing the 2nd cello sonata by Mendelssohn with @clavieryang , Glinka's piano sextet and Popper's requiem! 🧳 And now: destination Saxony, just over the border from the Czech Republic, for a bit of Dvorak, Beethoven and Kraft! #abbayeauxdames #historicallyinformedperformance #periodinstruments #musicianlife

The first Chimères orders are on their way 📦 Seeing the records leave in boxes feel both real and strange, after months of working on something that lived mostly in sound and in thought. I want to take a moment to thank the people who shaped this record: 🎶 @knsclassical for offering me this incredible opportunity! 🎙️@eliyahreichen for listening with so much patience and care 📸 @matthias_mueller_photography for my portraits, (and Susanna Drescher for Alessandro's) 🎹 And above all, @tardinoalessandro for his talent and his kindness during my two years in Basel. They are definitely three of my most meaningful encounters in Switzerland. 👉🏼 Chimères is now available on my website, link in bio ☀️ #newrelease #chimeres #nuitdeschimeres #knsclassical #debutalbum #albumrelease #firstorders #nowavailable #cellopiano @henleverlag

📀NEW RELEASE📀 KNS Classical Is Proud to Release Exceptional Recording “Chimères”, by Cellist Mathilde Reuzé KNS Classical is pleased to announce the release of Chimères, the recording by French cellist Mathilde Reuzé (@mathildereuze ), joined by pianist Alessandro Tardino. This refined and carefully curated album brings together three masterworks from the late Romantic and early modern repertoire, offering listeners a compelling journey through imagination, lyricism and contrast. The recording opens with Richard Strauss’s Sonata for Cello and Piano in F major, Op. 6, a youthful yet bold composition that already hints at the dramatic flair of the composer’s later works. César Franck’s celebrated Sonata in A major, performed here in the cello version approved by the composer, offers an introspective and radiant middle chapter. The program closes with Claude Debussy’s Sonata for Cello and Piano in D minor, a landmark of French modernism and one of the most significant works in the cello literature. Mathilde Reuzé, a cellist of wide-ranging curiosity and cultural depth, is known for her engagement with historical performance, contemporary creation, and interdisciplinary approaches. A laureate of numerous international competitions, she has recently performed as a soloist with the Kammerorchester Basel and is currently a member of the Jaroussky Academy. Alessandro Tardino, a sensitive and experienced chamber musician, brings clarity and nuance to each of these complex scores. Chimères is now available on all major platforms, including Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, and YouTube: /release/chimeres/ #KNSClassical #NewRelease #MathildeReuze #Cello #Chimeres #KNSDistinguishedClassicalArtists #GrandPrix #Multiprizewinner #Debussy #Strauss #Franck #Sonata #CelloandPiano

Looking back on a truly unforgettable evening in Munich 🎶 🎻 Last Sunday we had the privilege of performing Bach's Matthäus Passion at the Isarphilharmonie for the @bachfestmuenchen , a work that shaped my life long before I ever approached a cello. The legend says that I decided at 3 years old that I wanted to play the cello after hearing Johannes Passion live... So playing the Matthäus now, as a first big project in Munich felt strangely like a circle closing. 📜 Nearly 300 years after its creation, and thanks to Felix Mendelssohn who revived the piece in the 19th century, the Matthäus Passion still deeply speaks to us today. It's themes – hope, grief, compassion... – are still relevant. ✨ Around 160 students, teachers and alumni shared the stage at the sold-out Isarphilharmonie: @madrigalchor_hmtm , vocal soloists, the baroque orchestra of the @hmtm_offiziell , and the women's voices of the Schulmusik Choir, under the direction of Martin Steidler. The Bach Festival is not over yet! Looking forward to new adventures very soon with four or five strings... 📸 1-4: Cordula Treml #matthäuspassion #isarphilharmonie #earlymusic #johannsebastianbach #bachfestmünchen #cellistlife
