We are happy to invite you to a concert entirely devoted to Mozart, his potential connection to the cello, and the purity of chamber music. The program will be performed on authentic classical-period instruments by Edi Kotler (violin) and Heddi Raz Shahar (cello), in an intimate duo concert. “This program presents our attempt to bridge Mozart’s unique compositional language with the cello, a connection that is often considered uncertain. We chose to explore the possibility of transforming two masterpieces (the two duets for violin and viola, K. 423 and K. 424) into potential piece of repertoire for violin and cello. To establish this connection, our program also includes variations on a theme from Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute, written by the cellist Bernhard Romberg, who lived in the same era and worked with Mozart himself. It was a privilege to share the Philharmonie stage with the @berlinersymphoniker , under the baton of Samuel Gal Alterovich, alongside the amazing @guy_braunstein_official , playing Max Bruch’s Kol Nidrei. In these complex and painful times, sharing this piece, rooted in Jewish prayer and longing, felt like both a personal and collective act of remembrance and hope. I’m profoundly grateful to everyone who came to listen and took part in this event.
