How I Used Generative Ai in my most recent Film!
-
If you’ve been following me you know that I am someone who has a love & hate relationship with the advancement of these tools, but it’s hard not to be excited about how much further this can push us to tell unique stories! Also my goal with ai is to use it to manipulate what I’ve already shot! I only see it as a mix media collaboration, I would like to tell stories as traditional as possible! Cause that’s what makes all of this so fun to do.
Slide 1: I grabbed the footage from the hallway scene with talent
@kr.yst after grading them in
@davinciresolvestudios (very important to do the color first!) I grabbed stills from the footage and place them into
@kaiber.ai with a couple detailed prompts of exactly how I saw the blood flowing through the hallway, inspired by one of my favorite kubrik films “the shining” and having a huge emphasis on what lens I used and that the shot needs to stay static I ended up with these results :)
.
Slide 2: was definitely a dream come true! When we wrote the script I specifically wanted to have a sign from the town we were shooting in on the outskirts of La to fall as symbolism to the town falling apart. I grabbed a still from one of the sign in the town placed it into
@hailuoai_official and I wrote a detailed prompt of exactly how I wanted this sign to tip over!
.
Slide 3: came out better than expected! I was inspired by the movie bill and Ted lol I love all the corny Vfx in that film and it was exactly where I wanted to take this story! I once again used stills from the graded footage! Placed it into
@kaiber.ai with a detailed prompt of the characters getting electrocuted! Brought it back into da Vinci cut the flow up with a couple Ramp speeds in the beginning and in my opinion sold the effect perfectly :) I like that it looks sorta tacky
.
Slide 4: I grabbed the still of me looking out the desert, I removed myself from the frame using
@photoshop generative fill, put the still of the frame without me into
@hailuoai_official to bring an explosion to life, but with emphasis of the camera staying static and out of focus! I then masked myself back into the shot.
