Building spaces where creativity thrives!
We recently completed a 7,100 SQ FT tenant improvement project for @tumo_losangeles : a nonprofit that offers free tech and design education for teens. With no fees, no grades, and no exams, TUMO puts teens in charge of their own learning across areas like digital media, music, animation, and game development.
The new space includes a music studio, recording room, conference rooms, private offices, and more; all designed to fuel hands-on, creative learning.
@tumo_losangeles was recently featured in Fox LA news coverage. Read the full article and check out the video here: /news/north-hollywood-tumo-center-free-tech-program.amp.
We are grateful to be part of a project that matters and opens doors for the next generation! #TenantImprovement #TUMOLosAngeles #Education #CommunityImpact

We are excited to announce the groundbreaking of a truly transformational project in Los Angeles. Mata Construction has officially broken ground on a new 27,000-square-foot wellness and community center for the @translatinacoalition , a first-of-its-kind hub dedicated to empowerment, health, and vital community services.
Founded in 2009 by Latina immigrants, the @translatinacoalition is the largest trans-led organization in the United States, now nationally recognized with representation in 10 states and providing critical services to TGI individuals across Los Angeles.
This new building will bring wellness programming, housing support, workforce development, and advocacy under one roof: creating a safe, affirming, and empowering environment for the community.
We’re honored to help build a space that will serve as a cornerstone for healing, opportunity, and lasting impact.

The evening was a powerful testament to community, resilience, and the belief that everyone deserves a chance to redefine their future. Thank you to everyone who has played a part in making this organization what it is today, and for the doors it continues to open for formerly incarcerated individuals seeking a better path forward. At Mata Construction, supporting Homeboy Industries and their mission is personal because we believe in something bigger than ourselves.

Last week, our team and our partners at @runitwomensworkforce headed to Sylmar High School to volunteer with @diygirlsorg and their Invent Girls program.
We helped students assemble PCBs and solder LCD and LED matrix components, and a few of our own crew tried soldering for the first time too! What a fun and cool experience!
Community partnerships like this are a reminder of why we do what we do. DIY Girls is doing incredible work getting young women into STEAM, and we're proud to support their mission.

We’re proud to share the completion of a new 20,000 SQ FT headquarters workplace for @wedbushsecurities at the Pasarroyo campus in Pasadena.
Partnering with @hlw_la , we transformed the top two floors into a modern financial services environment that brings together executive leadership, active trading, and hospitality-driven collaboration spaces. The buildout includes a large boardroom, meeting and huddle rooms, a podcast studio, traders’ area, private offices, and a welcoming breakroom and reception space. A signature interconnecting stair connects the main workspace to a penthouse level featuring executive offices and additional amenities, while a lower-level buildout supports Wedbush’s growing IT and mail operations.
This project reflects the continued momentum of return-to-office in Los Angeles, with companies investing in elevated, functional, and experience-driven workplaces.

As we close out the month of March, we’re proud to honor Women’s History Month by reflecting on the journeys that shaped us. Our team of women came together to share a piece of advice we’d give our younger selves: words rooted in growth, resilience, and courage. From trusting your voice to embracing every challenge as an opportunity, these reminders are a testament to how far we’ve come and the future we’re continuing to build. Here’s to lifting each other up, learning along the way, and empowering the next generation of women! 💫

Last week, we were proud to sponsor a meaningful gathering that brought together women from across Los Angeles to celebrate Women’s History Month at the historic @womensclubeaglerock , an important part of our local community.
The conversation, Knowledge is Power, centered on challenging existing systems and expanding access to real estate ownership, an important dialogue that we were honored to support.
As a commercial construction company, we’re committed to creating opportunities, building spaces that empower communities, and helping expand access to knowledge within our industry. The speakers were incredible, and the energy in the room was truly inspiring.
Special thank you to @ladyofrecord , @omgivning_ , @annamalaikatubbs and Chris Morris for an incredible panel discussion!
