We are thrilled to announce our debut solo exhibition “Modern Exposure” featuring photographs by Walt Burns @waltburns opening Friday, June 5th. Burns’ depicts unique compositions of ubiquitous cityscapes of Fort Worth, elevating ordinary scenery into novel abstraction. He hones in on titillating compositions of historic architecture by removing them from the mundane and positioning them within a contemporary framework. In Burns’ own words from a recent @papercityfortworth story by @downtownedwardbrown states “I was shooting sunsets and grand landscapes…so instead of going bigger, I went smaller. I started seeing pieces of the building, corners of the building, sections of the building, and thought ‘that’s more interesting to me.’” Come see @waltburns photos on the forefront of the Texan Abstract Minimalism, and we invite you all to join us for for opening reception on 6/5/2026 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm! #WaltBurns #ModernExposure #MasureGallery #FortWorth #Photography

Moving from a green, scrappy gallery manager to director and chief curator was a trajectory I never really imagined for myself. If you work in the arts, you always wear multiple hats and are often judge, jury, janitor, PR, and therapist for your clients and artists lol. However, the support we have received as a new baby gallery in Fort Worth has been immense and beyond what I could have hoped for ️ I promised myself to make the time to write a curatorial catalogue proper to introduce our band of 10 photographers for this exhibition and I couldn’t have done it without the support of @jmrussell87 ️ Thank you for being the best editor under a time crunch as always Please stop by the gallery to read the RED Exhibition catalogue and learn more about the landscape of talented photographers of DFW. Photo highlight of the day featuring “Golden Hour Chevy” by Christopher McGathey @unfilteredfoto72 The liquid-smooth, candy apple red leather car interior has an almost edible quality. As if you want to cut into the interior like a knife through a cake. The glow of golden hour light raking the interior amplifying every detail, stitch, texture and chrome accent. It reminds me of William Eggleston’s vibrant color photography and classic car culture in America. They just don’t make em like this anymore. Photo highlight of the day featuring “ENTER” by Drew Nelson @dpn_photos I was immediately drawn to the simplicity of the glowing nature of this photograph. I began thinking about “Twenty Six Gas Stations” by Ed Ruscha, and the graphic way he depicts signage that is otherwise ubiquitous in America. Turns out this photo was made right next door to the gallery at @flattrackcoffee_ftw , our beloved coffee shop neighbor who makes *the best* cortado ️ I loved the composition and emergent locality of this photograph and had to include it in the show. Signed, limited first edition prints are available for purchase ️ #MasureGallery #Photography #FortWorth #DFW

In this photo, Bowers documents the beloved historic Uptown Theatre located in Grand Prairie, Texas. The defunct theatre was bought by the city and now functions as a community performance hall. Bowers image reminds us of honoring the artistic histories before us, to preserve them long after we expired. Limited, signed first edition prints are now available for purchase.
