Songkran, the biggest water fight on planet Earth! The whole country turns into a giant water fight for 3 days! Historically, people visited temples to offer food to monks and pour scented water over Buddha statues. Water represents cleansing. It is believed to wash away the bad luck and grievances of the past year. It was so beautiful seeing everyone coming together to help one another by washing away negativity from the previous year. I was honored to participate in Rod Nam Dum Hua, where younger people pour scented water into the palms of their elders to ask for blessings. Can’t wait for next year 💧🔫

Mom, thank you so much for teaching me how to fly. I would never be the man I am without your guidance and love. My heart is full of you. I am so honored to walk in my own shoes because you always taught me to love myself and believe that I can do anything. I am not far away because you are in my heart and I am in yours. We are one! While a piece of your heart is far away in distance, I can feel you every step I take. There is no love as strong as the love between a mother and her son and that will never change no matter how many miles are between us. Being a mom is the hardest job in the world and you do it so elegantly. Thank you for believing in me and teaching me to fly even though I know it hurts. Like Papa said, we are under the same moon. Happy birthday to the best mom I could ever ask for ❤️ P.S I know it’s not your birthday in America yet but I had to post because I actually wrote this in September on my flight over here so I’ve been dying to post it 😂 Thank you for always supporting me in everything no matter where I am. Flipping into the new year like

First Christmas away from home was nutso buttso 😂 Christmas- A teacher who speaks some English asked me if I could wear a elf costume in the morning.. Turns out it was a much bigger job 😂 I ended up riding a scooter through all of the students during the flag ceremony, accompanied by Santa and kids dressed as US military shooting toy guns. Then it turned out I was actually the guy with the microphone doing everything on stage! I said a bunch of things about Christmas that no one could understand, gave out presents to students who got the answer wrong, and said HO HO HO a whole bunch! Haha School on Christmas was actually so much fun because all day is a party!!! Plus I got to talk to my family on the phone! After school, there was a goodbye party for Teacher North with karaoke!! It was super sad saying goodbye but karaoke and friends make everything easier! Christmas Eve- - kids decorated me - found a litter of puppies - showed my students my snowboard clips - caught a bunch of pufferfish - got invited to the Philippine Christmas Eve dinner with karaoke - played ukulele under the moon with my friends - went to the beach and played with fireworks Sick 💥

Wait for the squirrels… 🐿️ Last season I had 2 injuries that shortened my it up by quite a lot BUT it was still amazing! First day of school! Today was nuts! 😂 I was told I shouldn’t prepare anything because I wouldn’t be teaching and then right when school started they handed me a microphone and said start teaching 😂 I had maybe 10 minutes to look over everything (not knowing I was teaching today) so it was pretty hectic but so AWESOME! All the kids are so sweet and my coworkers are amazing! So excited for this chapter at my new home ❤️ After school I had to go pick up my scooter (because of yesterday’s ordeal 😂) and it was pouring!
