For years, I’ve been asked the same questions: how I light, edit and what my thought processes are. Mastering Portraits - VOL 1 (Lagos) is where I share that process in full. From idea to execution, to editing and delivery. No guesswork. No gatekeeping. Just the exact framework, techniques, and workflows behind my portraits. If you’re serious about creating consistent and professional-level work, this course was made for you. Available now. Instant access. Link in bio.

Nothing speaks louder than the experience of the photographers who were in the room. Here’s what some of the participants from Mastering Portraits @mastering.portraits Lagos had to say after two days of learning, creating and pushing their craft. We’re LIVE in Accra, Ghana 🇬🇭 April 7–8. Limited seats. Link in bio.

It’s still hard to put into words what those two days felt like. On the 7th–8th of April, we didn’t just host a workshop in Ghana 🇬🇭 We built something real; A room full of people who came with open hearts, ready to learn, unlearn, and grow. Every question, every moment behind the camera, every conversation in between, all mattered. This wasn’t just about lighting or editing. It was about clarity. Vision. Confidence. And more than anything… COMMUNITY ❤️. To the participants, thank you for trusting me, for showing up fully, and for giving your energy to this experience. You are the reason it all came alive. To the speakers, thank you for pouring into the room, for sharing your knowledge, your stories, and your truth so openly. To our sponsors and partners, thank you for believing in the vision and supporting it so wholeheartedly. And to everyone behind the scenes, seen and unseen, who played a role in bringing this dream to life… thank you. Truly. My heart is full. Video team: @cinesvm @tymcuts Video edit: @cinesvm

For @bolanleofficial_ ’s session at @mastering.portraits , we explored the full range of lighting, from strobes, continuous lights, and a mix of both using small but powerful lights from @ulanzi.global . Participants got hands-on during the continuous light segment, and I pushed one idea… It’s not about the camera. I picked up a Canon T5… and instantly felt it. A reminder of where it all started for me, with a Canon T2i my brother gave me. Same feeling. Same curiosity. Same foundation. And the results? They spoke for themselves. I’ll be honest teaching my signature lighting technique for shooting whites didn’t go as planned at first. But that’s the work. As photographers, we don’t just create. We are problem solvers. We adjusted. We figured it out. And we made it work. And in the end, I’m proud of what we created. One principle I kept coming back to: Get it right in camera. Spend less time editing. 90% camera work. 10% post. Curious to know, what was your favorite slide? At MASTERING PORTRAITS (@mastering.portraits ), we share without holding back. Thank you to @ophlex and @hayet.rida for setting the tone for Day 1. In my session, I broke down my full workflow from before I even pick up the camera, to execution. During @koj.sei ’s editorial session, I showed how versatile and replicable my signature lighting technique can be. We also explored the use of hard light, continuous lights, and introduced the Fog Ace Machine from @ulanzi.global to enhance the set and make it more dramatic. One core principle I emphasized: Get it right in camera. Spend less time editing. 90% camera work, 10% post. Intentional shooting always wins. Curious to know, what was your favorite slide? It really does take a village… and this was ours. Mastering Portraits Accra came to life because of the people behind it. The ones who showed up, contributed, supported, and believed in what we were building. To every speaker, partner, and friend, I say thank you. To every student, thank you for your openness, your energy, and your willingness to grow. You made this experience what it was. And to anyone who played a part, in ways seen or unseen, whether your name is here or not I’m deeply grateful. My heart is full. Truly. I’m especially grateful to God for raising an army of people around me to support such a milestone in my life. “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” — Ephesians 3:20 Thank you.

In a conversation with @stevemorrism , this stood out to me…Everyone is chasing the algorithm. But the real work? Taste. Clarity. Consistency. Social media is a tool… not the foundation. The right clients don’t come from noise. They come from alignment.

This is about understanding your value, refining your pricing, and positioning yourself with intention. If you’ve ever questioned your worth or how to grow into higher-level work this is for you. A moment from my conversation with @stevemorrism for @mastering.portraits He shared how a client came back 10 years later…and his pricing had increased 10x. Not overnight. Not randomly. But through growth more experience better work and a stronger understanding of value. Pricing isn’t something you figure out once. It evolves as you evolve. As a creative, when you grow… your pricing, your structure, and your strategy should grow with you too. Because it’s never just about what you do, but about the value you bring. Thank you @stevemorrism for sharing such valuable insights with us!
