Saturday, June 6th, we will be hosting our annual in-house tournament. We have divisions for all ages & skill levels!
Tigers Divisions: Belt Grab, Chanbarra, Forms, High Kick
Juniors Divisions: Point Sparring, Chanbarra, Highest Jump Kick, Forms
Teens Divisions: Point Sparring, Chanbarra, Highest Jump Kick
Official Start Time is 10:00am.
Our Martial Arts Tournament is a great opportunity for students to develop confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Get a chance to test your skills and see what competition can bring out of you. 💪

Fumio Demura was a Japanese-American karateka and kobudoka, based in the United States since the mid-1960s, and reached 9th Dan in Shito-ryu Karate. He is also the inspiration for Mr. Miyagi from the Karate Kid movies, and was Pat Morita’s martial arts stunt double in the first, third and fourth Karate Kid films.

Our MaTrix term has just started for the Spring, and will run for 10 weeks until we take a break over the Summer. We can tell these students have some great potential, and we’re definitely looking forward to building their skills!

What a weekend we had here at @mastergees , as Saturday was the Physical Test for our Apprentice Class in their Black Belt Cycle. 🙌💪🥋
The day started at 8:00am at the Burnaby North track to run a mile, then back to the Dojo for 100 push ups, sit ups, and deep squats.💯 Then it was Self Defence testing, Board Breaks, followed by the Black Belt Sparring.💥
The class did very well throughout the whole testing, as it was a tough day to get through start to finish. The Dojo always has high energy buzzing, as it’s a big day for our Apprentices, and all of the assisting Black Belts have felt what it’s like to have been there before.
Great work by all of our Apprentices to make it this far and show true heart! And a big thank you to all of our Instructors, Assistants, Black Belts, and friends & family that came out to help & cheer on the class!👏👏👏
