This Thursday, our Executive Director @ashrumsey joins the @hospitalitydesign mainstage in Las Vagas to explore how the hospitality industry’s most compelling concepts are evolving into dense, culture-driven ecosystems where space is fluid, programs overlap, and every square foot needs to earns its place.
Guest rooms become minimal anchors, while the real experience unfolds in culturally embedded social zones that connect travellers to the neighbourhood, to local businesses, to the city, and to each other.

Materially, Queen and Ashbridge / Bridge draws from its waterfront context.
The palette references the textures and tones of Lake Ontario and the surrounding parkland, using stone surfaces, weathered wood tones, and layered finishes that evoke driftwood and shoreline conditions.
Glazing and orientation reinforce visual connections to the adjacent park and bay, ensuring that interior spaces remain linked to the larger landscape.

At the Queen and Ashbridge / Bridge, the lobby functions as both an entry and a collective living space.
Defined by long views and a restrained material palette, it supports moments of pause, transition, and informal gathering.
Fitness and wellness areas are integrated into this spatial system. Positioned along key routes and designed with visual openness, they contribute to a continuous interior landscape where movement becomes part of the broader experience of the building.

Introducing Queen and Ashbridge / Bridge, a mixed-tenure residential project on Toronto’s eastern waterfront, bringing together market condos, rental units, and geared-to-income housing within a single shared architectural framework.
The design of the common spaces is rooted in an understanding of movement and visibility. Rather than isolating amenities as discrete rooms, the project organizes them as a network of interconnected environments aligned with primary circulation paths.
The lobby, fitness spaces, lounges, co-working areas, and outdoor amenities are encountered as part of daily routines, allowing activity to unfold in view and encouraging informal interaction.

我們更想回到自己相信的事情,也就是透過共享的經驗,讓人們有機會看見彼此的差異,並在其中建立連結。
“We want to return to what we believe in, which is to create opportunities through shared experiences for people to see each other’s differences and build connections within them.”

A project we’ve been working on since 2019. It’s almost ready to share.
A residence not amenity-driven, but connection-driven. The gym sits within circulation. Work overlooks rest. The park is always a constant anchor. Social life is always in view.
More soon.

The Light Room is a finalist for the 2026 AZ Awards in Lighting Schemes.
Together with @vyvydlighting , we set out to build a living laboratory exploring how light shapes emotion, ritual, and human connection. Through our dinner collaboration with @ridetowander for @designtofestival , and everyone who joined us for the Lunar New Year celebration in the Mason Cultural Hub, we’ve been able to do exactly that.
The people’s choice voting is now through May 8th. Vote via the link in bio.
