We recently installed the new 9.5” (240mm) single-plate clutch for the VA/VB WRX by @xclutch_usa on @marymfields ’ 2024 WRX known as Cinderelli. While they currently offer this clutch style for the STi with either a sprung organic disc (XKSU24588-1A) or a sprung puck ceramic disc (XKSU24588-1R), this is the first time they’ve offered this setup for the VA/VB WRX platform. 😁
This disc style is called a cushion button disc. It uses segmented ceramic friction facings on both sides of the disc and offers the same torque capacity (670 ft-lbs at the engine) and heat capacity as a puck/paddle-style disc. It also incorporates a marcel cushioning spring between both friction facings to provide softer, less abrupt engagement and easier modulation during the semi-engaged state.
The release bearing is also XClutch’s own design and features a full-metal carrier to prevent melting while providing an optimal contact diameter for the pressure plate.
Overall, we couldn’t be happier with the clutch. Installation was straightforward, engagement is excellent, and the pedal feel is smooth like OEM but with a bit more confidence — which is definitely needed since the car currently makes 388whp / 417wtq on E70.

My first time to California was pretty nice. We hiked up a mountain, ate lunch in a canyon, went for a drive with the top down, made friends with the wildlife, saw the beach and spent time at the lake with friends. 10/10 can’t wait to go back
Way back Wednesday to when my legacy was a street car and my timing gears weren’t colorful. But you bet, I’m still running my trusty Killer B Motorsport oil pan that I installed in 2014. No hocus-pocus just parts that work and last.

Cinderelli was in a small accident a few weeks ago and now that the weather has cleared up, it’s time to drop her off at the body shop to get her all fixed up.
Then she’ll be headed back to @idealdetailing for ceramic coating again.
