The best evening in Venice ever. The heroine of my life, a woman that I am in such an awe of is standing next to me, being in the middle of her element. And this is all because of the wonderful Pavilion of @astafanney_art and the @icelandicartcenter that made the @icelandicpavilion such a good place to be #bjork #venicebiennale2026 #icelandicpavilion #iceland #ástafanneysigurðardóttir

📍 Flandernbunker, Kiel @flandernbunker 🕕 täglich 10–17 Uhr _________________________________________ An evening of emotion and connection Two weeks ago last Friday, we opened the exhibition ‘Repeat After Me II’ at Flandernbunker. Two years ago I was a curator of the Polish Pavilion in the Venice Biennale with Ukrainian collective Open Group that made a piece about the sounds of war that are reflecting civilians. The piece about what war is. This year I came not only to celebrate and have a time with my friends but also to commit to what is more important. Together with the ex Minister of Culture and ex commissar of the Polish Pavilion and the member of the European Parliament Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz we were protesting against the founding of the Foundation of La Biennale di Venezia and against their appearance in the show and against the war and genocide. #bartłomiejsienkiewicz #martaczyż #venicebiennale2026 #labiennaledivenezia2026 #russiagohome

The theme of the 12th edition of the Konteksty Festival of Ephemeral Art (@konteksty.to ) is Overturn – a concept that opens up reflection on moments of rupture in life and history, both personal and collective. It is an invitation to consider what change truly is, and when we are able to recognise it. Do life-altering events always take the form of sudden catastrophe? Or do the most significant overturns happen outside of the mainstream of narrative, in everyday, less visible experiences? The festival will take place on 16–19 July in Sokołowsko. The curators, Marta Czyż and Dzekashu MacViban, together with the invited artists, examine moments in which hidden tensions and dependencies come to the surface — as well as the potential for resistance, care, and creative transformation. Konteksty has for years presented significant phenomena in contemporary art within the space of a former health resort in Lower Silesia. It is four days of events and encounters bringing together artists and audiences. The event is organised by the @fundacjainsitu . The festival’s partner is BWA Wrocław, and its media patrons include Artinfo.pl and Legalna Kultura. The full programme will be announced in June. .pl | Join us for this year’s edition of the festival. Accommodation bookings through the Foundation: [email protected] Co-financed from the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

@open_group_ , Repeat After Me II, 2022–2024 At the core of the exhibition are two films created in 2022 and 2024. The protagonists – civilian refugees from Ukraine – reproduce from memory the sounds of war: gunfire, explosions, sirens, the crackle of shelling. These sounds are not mere background – they become the main narrative element, encouraging viewers to repeat them. The karaoke format, typically associated with entertainment, is radically transformed here: instead of pop hits – the sounds of lethal weapon; instead of musement – a memory of survival. The 2022 film documents the lives of so-called internally displaced persons – those who moved from eastern to western Ukraine. The newer 2024 production shifts the narrative to a global dimension – the protagonists speak from places such as Wrocław, Berlin, Vienna, Vilnius, Tullamore (Ireland) and New York. This change in location broadens the experience: from immediate danger to the trauma of life in exile. The exhibition’s scenography is balanced between grotesque and horror: a futuristic karaoke bar with microphones, steel furniture and red lighting becomes a space where boundaries between entertainment and testimony blur. The audience is invited to participate, making the experience both an exercise in empathy and an act of remembrance. Repeat After Me II does not allow us to forget. It is not only a record of wartime trauma but also a sensory document – chiefly auditory. It is a political and emotional act: a reminder that war is not only about images, but also about sounds that remain in the body forever. As one of the exhibition’s protagonists says: ‘Repeat after me, so that you hear—and never forget.’ Repeat after Me ll was presented at the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia – in the Polish Pavilion in Venice 2024. Curator: Marta Czyż (@martulious ). Part of the état bruit exhibition. On display from 28.03 until 20.09.2026. 📷 Photos by @webskiphot
