It’s an honor to share that Mirror Gate II is now installed at Place du Louvre.
The work stands in direct dialogue with the Louvre and directly in front of the Egyptian collection, aligned with the glass pyramid by I. M. Pei.
Created using Egyptian heritage stones including yellow alabaster, red Aswan granite, and Breccia Fawakhir, materials used for thousands of years in Egyptian architecture and sculpture, the piece carries layers of history, memory, and meaning.
A site-specific evolution of the work first presented at the Pyramids of Giza, Mirror Gate II continues that dialogue here in Paris.
In collaboration with @marmonil and curated by @stephane_ruffier_meray , with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Paris Centre City Hall.
I’m very grateful to @marmonil for their exceptional craftsmanship and for working with such beautiful Egyptian heritage stones 🤎
Public unveiling tomorrow, January 20, at 5:00 pm.
See you there!

Christian Abdallah stands as a model of an ambitious mother who succeeded in building a distinctive name in the stone industry through Marmonil factory, which specializes in offering designs that combine high quality with refined artistic taste in the use of natural stone and marble.
Over time, Christian was not working alone, her daughter, Karen Abdallah, became a true partner in the journey of success, learning from her the values of management, dedication, and hard work. Karen grew up watching her mother run the factory with confidence and intelligence, absorbing from her a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to make decisions.
As she stepped into the business at Marmonil, she contributed fresh ideas and youthful energy that helped develop the factory and expand its presence in the market. This collaboration between mother and daughter created a successful duo that brought together experience and enthusiasm, contributing to the growth of the factory and strengthening its position.
The story of this duo, Christian and Karen, stands as an example of the strength of the mother-daughter bond, and how such a relationship can evolve into a successful partnership built on trust, collaboration, and ambition.
