While there are many perks to living in the UK over the USA (universal healthcare and no guns as a starting point), Thanksgiving week always makes me a bit homesick for the Land of the Free.
Here in the UK, Halloween gets followed immediately by Christmas, and I can’t help but feel we could use that little buffer holiday: Thanksgiving. It’s day to reflect on what we have and what we are truly grateful for. Yes, we do get “Black Friday” here, but what’s the point of that if we don’t actually get Thanksgiving?
Explaining Thanksgiving to Brits is always tricky. Even after over two decades together, my partner still asks, “How can you get excited about what’s essentially a Sunday lunch in the middle of the week?” Perhaps I’ve been fully indoctrinated into the American Dream, buying into the idea of turkey, family, gathering, and giving thanks.
For me, Thanksgiving transcends politics and allows us all to have a day set aside to appreciate what we have. This year, I’m especially thankful for the amazing clients I’ve had the privilege to work with in 2025. I’m raising a virtual cocktail to each and every one of you. Meet Alyssa — one of the most inspiring entrepreneurs I’ve ever photographed.
When she was just six, she noticed that none of the video games she played had black characters with Afro hair. Instead of just accepting that, she and her mum spotted a gap in the market and decided to create a game themselves.
Today, that game has been downloaded more than 60,000 times and recently won the Character and Animation category at the Kelvyn Gardner License This! Competition.
Simply incredible what a bit of vision and a ton of pluck can achieve.

What a fantastic way to end the week...Pimlico Plumbers just launched their new Commercial section of their website, featuring our work. It was a brilliant project encompassing photography and videography across seven sectors. Working with eighteen models across twenty-six locations over the course of ten days, we delivered some of the best work we’ve ever done.
Huge thanks to Boyan Dragomirov for his tireless work, Kristian for his tremendous work assisting and of course Rupa Patel and Timothy Keys for entrusting such a huge project to our team. It truly was a dream come true.
