OSAKA EXPO 2025🌏✨ We had the opportunity to visit Expo 2025 Osaka with our executive team, and the experience was both inspiring and forward-looking. At the NTT Pavilion, we explored "PARALLEL TRAVEL"—a three-zone experience themed around traveling through space and time. Powered by IOWN, NTT’s next-generation optical network, the pavilion showcases spatial transfer technology that enables remote places to be connected, allowing people to share environments beyond physical distance and truly feel each other’s presence. It offers a tangible glimpse into the future of communication. The pavilion embodies the concept of “emotional architecture.” Floating gently and lightly, it is open like a park—bringing together greenery, light, sky, visitors, wanderers, and countless overlapping moments. Thread-like structures emit sound, while fabrics swaying in the wind create shade that gently envelops people. The entire pavilion responds to feelings and excitement with subtle vibrations, as though it were a living being with emotions. It’s an architecture of coexistence, blending the natural, the emotional, the human, and the digital—all diverse, yet unified. We also visited the Italy Pavilion, where our global design network Tangity- part of NTT DATA, united design, technology, and imagination to craft a dedicated temporary exhibition for Regione Lombardia. As part of Expo 2025, the Tangity Italy team created an immersive spatial experience celebrating Lombardy’s identity through architecture, light, and multimedia storytelling. Designed as a living narrative, the space leads visitors through a journey of light, sound, and motion - enriched by Generative AI-crafted content transforming data and culture into emotion. The experience concludes with an interactive AI Photobooth, where visitors create personalized digital postcards “visiting” Lombardy - a poetic keepsake and invitation to explore the region in real life. Expo 2025 Osaka offered a wide range of forward-looking ideas and technologies worth experiencing firsthand. It’s a powerful reminder that when technology and creativity come together, we move closer to a more connected and sustainable world.

NTT DATA Award 2025 for one of Innovation Category Awards goes to 'Project Members of the Public Sector Digital Twin Project Utilizing IOWN Technology.' This project involves participating in a new business domain that aims to digitize the entire Japanese territory as a digital twin, enabling countless emergency simulations that were previously impossible, thereby strengthening national resilience. Until now, due to numerous technical challenges such as the accuracy of synthesizing and integrating map data with point cloud data, limitations in spatial recognition, and the real-time updating and simulation of massive amounts of data including sensor data and spatiotemporal data (latitude, longitude, altitude, and time), realization had been difficult. To overcome these technical challenges, we proposed an advanced approach that combines our accumulated digital twin technologies with IOWN 4D digital-related technologies developed by NTT Laboratories, to generate a real-time digital twin of the national territory. #NTTDATA #NTTDATAAward2025 #Innovation #DigitalTwin #IOWN
