This marks the third homecoming festival this spring. The Bay Area was director @pohsiteng ’s first home in the United States two decades ago, and northern California is where Dr. Feroze Sidhwa is based.

The American Doctor team is honored to receive a Special Mention in the HUMAN:RIGHTS category after our International Premiere at @cphdox . We are very grateful to the audiences and the Palestinian community here in Copenhagen for the way they embraced the message in our film. Yesterday we received the news that American Doctor was honored with two awards at the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival.
We are deeply moved that audiences selected the film for the Fischer “Peter Wintonick” Audience Award, and that the Amnesty International Prize Jury recognized the film’s commitment to using cinema as a tool for human rights advocacy - a purpose that sits at the heart of American Doctor.
We wish we could have been there to accept these honors in person and express our gratitude.

The film follows physicians who risk everything to care for patients under siege in Gaza and return home determined to bring the struggle to the halls of Congress and share the truth of what they witnessed.
Across Canada, healthcare workers are doing just that. Their advocacy is a powerful reminder that medicine is not only about saving lives in hospitals, but also about advocating for the basic necessities required for life to continue to exist.
