// Gerhard Richter’s Strip Tower (962) in Sils Maria, Switzerland transforms his iconic Strip Paintings into a monumental three-dimensional sculpture. This piece explores abstraction, color theory, and larger themes of chance and chaos. Speaking to some of the underlying ideas in this work, Richter says, “Chance is a given…and we try to control that by intervening, giving form to chance, putting it to use.”
The work was conceived and produced by the Luma Foundation, on view until Spring 2029.
