After two weekends of presenting work, I’m deeply honored and blessed to have been selected as a 2025 Dance City Festival Standout Choreographer International Exchange Recipient and invited to present “Con Ganas”🌺🌎 at @artsintank_korea in Korea! 🥳 Words can’t fully express the gratitude I feel. I’m so fortunate to work with these incredibly talented humans I get to call friends and tell these stories with — thank you for helping me bring “Con Ganas” to life again. I love you all, let’s do this!!! ❤️. Thank you @caitmaryclark for letting me collaborate and share “From the Ashes” 🐦‍🔥🔥 with you. We are officially 🇰🇷✈️✨KOREA BOUND✨✈️🇰🇷 Thank you to everyone who has helped us get to our fundraising goal to be able to purchase every dancers flight to participate and perform “Con Ganas”🌎🌺 at the ARTSinTANK Dance Festival in Seoul, South Korea ❤️ We could not do this without you and are so incredibly grateful. Personally, I am incredibly moved by everyone who showed up for us who have met me in different walks of my life. From my time growing up in the Rio Grande Valley and dancing in Texas, to my time dancing in Ohio to my time in Chicago. Thank you for believing in me and these humans. The LPs | Dancer Edition ✨ First up, the one and only @markanthony_428 🤍 Mark Gonzalez is a dance artist from Edinburg, Texas. He received a BFA in Dance with emphasis in Performance and Choreography from Texas State University. During his time in Texas he had the privilege to work with artists such as Christa Oliver, Andy and Dionne Noble (Noble Motion Dance), and Mike Esperanza. After leaving Texas, Mark trained and performed with The Dayton Contemporary Dance Company 2 under the direction of Shonna Matlock. He was a scholarship recipient for Giordano Dance Chicago and Flockworks and has trained at Orsolina28 in Moncalvo, Italy. After moving to Chicago, Mark Apprenticed with Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre where he performed the works of Monique Haley and Katlin Bourgeois. He is now a Company Artist with Identity Performing Arts and Still Inspired. Outside of performing, Mark is a commissioned choreographer and has had the privilege to present his own choreography regionally, nationally and internationally at festivals including but not limited to COCO Dance Festival (Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago), Dance City Festival (Detroit, MI), Koresh Artist Showcase (Philadelphia, PA), BarnStorm Dance Festival (Houston, TX) and New Dances 2024, a partnership with DanceWorks Chicago and Thodos Dance Chicago. Recently, Mark was selected as a 2025 Standout Choreographer International Exchange Recipient at Dance City Festival: Detroit, and was selected to present his work in Seoul, South Korea at the 2026 ARTSinTANK Dance Festival in Korea. Mark is also a dance competition adjudicator with KAR Productions and ID Dance Competition. We are BEYOND excited and grateful to have him apart of the LPs. Come see him dance his face off. First weekend judging for @iddancecomp on the Zenith tour 🤩⚡️ I was so inspired witnessing the next generation of dance and teaching Contemporary as well. Already looking forward to the next one 😊✨⚡️

It’s been an absolute joy teaching ✨Contemporary✨ these past few weeks as an effort to fundraise for @artsintank_korea 😊 I wanted to use this opportunity to meet new humans, reconnect, and connect humans to build a safe space and sense of community. I’ve been thinking about the word ✨Community✨a lot lately, the different communities I’ve been fortunate to be part of since I’ve began my journey in pursuing dance as a career and the Chicago Dance Community, one that I hope to continue growing in. To all the artists who came to take class these past few weeks, THANK YOU for sharing your artistry and trusting me to lead you.
