From textural ambient and free improvisation to experimental post rock the Spinozas Dog live set plays out as one cinematic piece. With nods to angular no-wave and aquatic exotica, a soundtrack for internal drift, a narration in sonic adventure, a circular road trip. Also a stiff shot to accompany the idle tides of island life. Everything repeats but is never quite the same. Peter Sant (whose second Maltese shot and produced feature Å»afżifa, is coincidently unleashed 13th May to cinemas across the island). He plays his guitar with adapted capos, irregular tunings & metallic chop sticks, treating the instrument as a sound device but not afraid to keep it simple, melodic and classic at the same time. On Bass is Mark Axiak, a prolific player who’s traversed stages and studios from Australia to NY to Berlin to Oslo and now Birkirkara, where he’s built StudioX, smashing out organic recordings and productions for a host of our young talent. In Spinozas Dog he’s playing bass with an electronic edge. Taking the four string plank into synthesiser realms with pitched reverse loops and filters. Lastly Kristian Craig Robinson better known as the eclectic musician/producer Capitol K. Once described as ā€˜the punk warlord of groove’ for his electronic programming has finally gone acoustic on full drum kit with open tone and light touch. When not in Malta he’s based in famed London studio TRC, one of the epicentres of UK’s fervant music scene. Spinozas Dog bring a unique vibration and welcome addition to an emerging vibrant live music network in Malta. šŸ“ø @tickle_the_lens šŸ”—Book your spot through the link in bio šŸ—“ļø Friday 8th May 🚪 8:30pm doors open ā° 9pm start šŸŽŸļø €10 entrance fee šŸ“Œ 106 Merchants Street, Valletta #livemusicmalta #livemusicvalletta

Just recently we had @theglades_ back in. Keeping it real, keeping it live and capturing the vibes. A healthy reminder…sometimes music is captured best in its purest form….

Peter Sant (guitar), Mark Axiak (bass), and Kristian Craig Robinson (drums) have spent the winter exploring, improvising, and revising motifs for their debut live outing as instrumental trio Spinozas Dog. Having found themselves all relocated to Malta from various seething, high-strung metropolises, they found a common need to juxtapose the idle tide of island life with collective lore in textural, ambient, motorik post-rock. It’s a conversation or ā€˜prompt’ in motion, with both K and Mark playing unfamiliar instruments, learning on the fly, and Peter revealing subliminal directorial tactics whereby the slightest gesture may signal any number of deviations. Come join us on 11 April at Storeroom and share what manifests from this new sonic adventure. Tickets will be on the door priced at €10 @peter__sant @mark_axiak @_capitol_k @storeroomalta

RIP Phil ā¤ļø I was fortunate enough to hang and jam and talk music with Phil Campbell some years ago. He gave me some words that never left me, Incredibly inspiring words that helped me see myself. He invited me to his studio with his massive guitar collection, so i can give him tips on sounds, pedals. I was so humbled by his invitation. He was a rocker, and was simply curious about my pedalboard and the sounds coming from it. A reminder that true professionals are often humble and open. Don’t normally post this stuff, but its a shocker. Thanks for your insight and inspiration Lord A#sm&$!!! ā¤ļøā¤ļø RIP
