𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆? @alexdeforce on The Slow Must Go On. "In the days leading up to the premiere, I was racking my brain over the transitions. Because how do you link slow songs together? How do you handle a slow pit—an XL slow pit lasting at least an hour? The answer turned out to be simple: don’t be heavy-handed, don’t be poetic. Keep it light and move on to the next slow song as soon as possible, to the next heartbreak, in keeping with the theme of Pilar’s wonderful festival. The solution was hidden in the film—and presumably also in the novel—They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?: an enthusiastic “Yowza yowza yowza!” became a soft “Yes, yes.” My deepest thanks to everyone who came to slow dance. You were more numerous, warmer, more beautiful, and more genuinely enthusiastic than I dared to imagine. My dream has been fulfilled—but that doesn’t mean it’s over." Alex Deforce’s The Slow Must Go On brings slow dancing back to life. It was kind of poetic prom night. A space where dancing is not content. Anti-TikTok. Anti-performance. An anti-mosh pit. Where the mosh pit is chaos, aggression and centrifugal energy, the slow pit becomes a vortex of tenderness — centripetal, with poetry / the poet at its centre: a protest against the swipe, an exercise in staying. A marathon of closeness. The mosh pit pushes you away. The slow pit holds you tight. 📸 @marit.g 🌷✨

a year ago I got on a stage pole for the very first time. I had three moves, a serious case of the-resting-bitch-face-mistaken-for-a-fierce-face-card (a true medical condition!) and a dream. The experience was exhilarating and something within me truly unlocked that day. After that day I started approaching pole with a lot more of intention: the experience shifted, from what I initially approached as a fun way of sporting into an almost spiritual experience. I’ve seen my practice shift tremendously over this past year. The metal bar has not only unlocked my creative juices. It has brought me heaps of joy, pride, confidence and most importantly, a community. It has allowed me to re-claim the agency of my political queer existence. And it’s even been an incredible substitute for some specific cravings in times of… recession. I talk about this and more in my newest substack essay, “baby’s first slut-era” 📑 Link in bio or my stories 👨🏾‍💻 And as always, end less thanks to @jezebel.studio -my rock, my guidance and the force behind the most powerful, loving community I’ve been part of. big love for you always! ❤️ - Pictures from the pole solo & finale ’ of ‘Adéu, florida’, my latest performance for @cryingwithyou , shot by @marit.g 💕

A LOVE LETTER TO YOU </3 What a journey it’s been. Halfway through the festival, we pause to reflect on the powerful currents of emotion that have carried us forward: grief, rage, tenderness, joy, and everything in between. The opening night set a resonant tone: the radiant purity of @___fariiiiiiiida Amadou’s work, the searing rawness of @6_e_l_a ‘s presence, and the slow-burning tension of Leila Bordreuil’s performance each carved a space for deep feeling. These emotions lingered, deepened by Jasper’s poetry reading during the vernissage, an intimate moment where words wove through the exhibition space, inviting stillness and reflection. The communal dinner by @tafel.tafel.tafel , was a celebration of all past and future lovers, a shared gathering where stories and silences alike were seasoned with salty tears and bittersweet sentiments, a quiet testament to the connections being forged here. The Julian screening added another dimension, while @rosaanschuetz concert the following night continues to echo within us: a tender, immersive experience where her delicate voice and music intertwined with the atmosphere of the ongoing exhibition All That Was Left Was The Ache, amplifying its quiet ache. @hysterx.collective offered a vital space of contemplation, exploring how collective grief can transform into unifying activism, and how love and joy can still bloom, even in times of rupture. The @divagation_concerts takeover unfolded like a sonic pilgrimage, guided by the evocative presence of @flammefatal.e and Quentin Biardeau. @hoelvonhelvet Elez and An Diaoul summoned mystery, ritual, and darkly textured soundscapes, before @evenl0ad closed the night with dream-soaked melodies and cyber folk poetry. And still, there are two weeks to come. There’s more to feel, to witness, to share. Come through. Breathe it in. The full program awaits. 📷 @marit.g 📷 6 & 10: @kadi.visuals

part 1 of ‘adéu, florida’ immortalized by the incredible @marit.g 📸 Working on this piece was an absolute joy from start to finish. It brought me back to myself, to the joy of creating with friends, and introduced me to some incredibly talented and kind-hearted souls -all of us dealing with a loss of our own. One thing @cryingwithyou_ really reminded me of, is that vulnerability is power. Thank you to all the beautiful artists and visitors who shared a piece of your soul with us. The energy in the room was tender, but incredibly strong. Thank you to everyone who helped us bring this piece to life. Extra shout out to @rachelhansoul , @luc__sanciaume , @jezebel.studio , @zoratheh00k3r , @b6xbutchibou , @lissettecmal , @noixdekadjou_ , @annejullene , @lilovillagr @taniatorres.c , @falko_photos , @chamaloise @monasplashflows @sagaswitch and @marit.g for helping me bring this to life. There was a fly on the wall called @marit.g during the filming of Malandra’s music video. We loved having this sweet fly around and adore the pictures she took. The BTS photos turned out beautifly. The last one turned out a bit BTSM-y Merci Marit and merci lovely Malandra-crew!

@sriyam_plum in the water on the hottest summer day. After many hours of looking for a swimming spot, and many more hours sunbathing and swimming. The sun was already making its way down and I realized I had my camera on hand. Grateful for Plum trusting me and the waters (glad you did not drown!) and thankful for my hands not letting go of my trusty camera which could have been a disaster. Jessy dancing in the studio @jezebel.studio The past couple of months I had a lot of fun photographing again and starting my own journey in pole dancing. I saw Jessy dancing on at the studio and asked if I could take some pictures, Amy Winehouse was playing in the background. Many thanks to @jessydumarey for your trust and your beautiful movements! It was so much fun shooting you and challenging myself playing with the lights nearby. Decided to focus more on photography again and this time actually share the things I make. I am also exploring more of the analog world and loving time I spend in the darkroom. This is the first film I developed by myself. Last pictures are some darkroom prints. Canon F1 - 50mm lens - f1,4 and around a 1/60th /30th - kodak TX 400. 11 minutes in the developer
