I @mariongithegi graduated into a writers strike with little to no experience of life as a professional actress. But if I’m honest, the lowest period for me turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been more rewarding than I could have imagined. I’m still learning and growing, but excited for what’s to come! If you have a vision or goal, don’t overthink it, take action and trust that the rest will come. Monday night at @thesohohotel was a masterclass in true trailblazing. I had the privilege of hosting/moderating a room of Film/TV industry heavyweights and unpacking how work at that level is built, the decisions behind it made, and what emerging filmmakers can learn today. Celebrating 20 years of Teddy Nygh’s work was a reminder of how far ahead of the curve real innovators operate. From co-founding @ukfullyfocused , to working with @bet , @bbciplayer , @netflixuk , filming in Parliament, collaborating with iconic artists like @officialgiggs , generating 5M+ organic views per short, making #verticaldrama before the buzz, and even filming a full short on Zoom during Covid; trailblazer is an understatement 🔥🔥 All credit to organisers Tomasz Witkowski and Gabriel Wetz, Founders of @undergroundslate , which is a company building serious infrastructure for independent creators; quietly, intelligently, and with real intention.
