#rizoma #artforeveryone #elfuturoesahora

María Sánchez (@mariasanchez____ ) Curated by Farrah Carbonell @far.rah for @artandvault , in collaboration with @themuseframe and @theHUGxyz . Powered by @artdomains . María Sánchez (b. 1993, Venezuela) is an interdisciplinary artist working across drawing, painting, poetry, and movement-based deconstruction. Her practice draws from psychoanalysis, mysticism, quantum phenomena, and technology to explore the layered architecture of the psyche. Blending traditional materials such as paper and ink with digital processes, she creates a dialogue between organic and synthetic elements. Her works often take the form of human-like entities—constructed presences shaped through gesture, fragmentation, and language. Rooted in a background in dance, her work carries a sensitivity to movement, rhythm, and stillness, where negative space functions as a site of tension and meaning. Physical gesture and constructed language operate simultaneously as ritual and disruption. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including presentations at La Luz de Jesus Gallery (Los Angeles) and the Rema Hort Mann Foundation (New York), alongside solo exhibitions in London and Berlin. This program brings together artists engaging contemporary conditions through distinct visual languages.

Years ago, I remember being completely mesmerized by Joseph Wright’s work in London. It was one of those moments when you had to surrender and let the art consume you (maybe Stendhal syndrome…?) What started as a tribute to Wright’s mastery of light evolved into this piece. Rather than providing a literal study, I wanted to capture the artwork as a floating memory. It’s an exploration of the unknown and the inner alchemical transformation from a Jungian perspective. If these themes resonate with you or if you’re interested in the new series, I’m currently hosting private online studio visits for collectors. These visits are a more intimate way to continue the conversation and share more of my creative process. Feel free to send me a DM or an email at [email protected] The Alchemist, 2026 41x28 in (104x71 cm) - The Alchemist Discovering Phosphorus, Joseph Wright (1771). #newseries #studiovisit #contemporaryartist #chiaroscuro

Ectogenesis, 2026 60x40 in (152x102 cm) — Human Residue is a series of seven works that oscillate between reinterpretation and invention. The series draws from historical masterpieces and original paintings. For this piece, I was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s Studies of the Fetus in the Womb. Here the machine as the main element, has become a mother. After several trials, the fetus is healthy and nearly ready for extraction. The three scientists are checking its vitals to ensure a smooth procedure. Here, a new triad is revealed, suggesting the beginning of a new belief system. My take on this series is focused on the density of memory that keeps floating and existing in materiality, and our responsibility for shaping the psychic layer of humanity…the impact (conscious or not) we have on the world’s crises. The full series is now available on my website. For inquiries, please contact [email protected] #artiststudio #newseries #newmediaart #contemporaryart

Artist Spotlight: María Sánchez ✨ @mariasanchez____ is an interdisciplinary artist based in Jupiter, Florida. Her work moves fluidly between traditional and digital painting, drawing, experimental poetry, and movement-based deconstruction. Drawing from psychoanalysis, quantum phenomena, mysticism, and technology, she blends paper, metal, and ink with digital techniques to create hybrid forms that sit between the organic and the synthetic. Her practice often reflects on the ways power structures shape perception, memory, and the unconscious, using both handcrafted and algorithm-inspired approaches to explore the blurred boundary between self and system. María has exhibited internationally, with solo exhibitions including Reborn (2021, The HArt Gallery, London) and Faceless (2019, ResiART – SalonK, Berlin). Her recent group exhibitions include Everything But the Kitschen Sink (2025, La Luz De Jesus Gallery, Los Angeles), The Future of the Arts – Miami Art Week (2024, The Sagamore Hotel, Miami), and Colors (2024, CICA Museum, South Korea). She has also collaborated with the WildAid Foundation, creating original artwork for their global campaign against elephant ivory trafficking. For this piece, I imagined stepping into the world of Whichezkyak. As a photojournalist waiting for an opportunity to take close-up shots of the tallest beings living there, I finally got my chance. This is one of them… ‘Where Other Suns Shine’, 2025
